I hired him to replace my irrigation timer control. He said that any control would work and that they were easy to install.



But, I believe he wired it incorrectly and it left my irrigation well pump running even when set to the off position. The sprinklers were off, but the pump was still running. I didn’t notice it was still running until hours later because the pump is located next to my A/C unit. By the time I did notice, it had already gotten so hot that it warped the PVC pipes and burned away the seals connected to it. Even with the control in the off position, the pump would not turn off. The only way I could turn it off was to shut it off at the circuit breaker.



I emailed him about it that night and the next day he changed the wiring, but claimed that the wiring had nothing to do with the pump being damaged. He never could explain why the pump would stay on even when the sprinkler valves were turned off.



He refused to take responsibility for his mistake. It also turned out that the timer control he installed was not compatible with my pump start relay. I had to call the manufacturer of the timer control (Orbit model 57896) and my pump start relay (Hunter model PSR-22) to find out that they were not compatible together.



And because I complained about it, he refused to complete the work he promised to do for my lawn. I had hired him previously to overseed my lawn and when it didn’t fill in the bare spots like he said it would, he said he would do another seeding for those areas and if necessary, he would place sod on those areas. He never did the second seeding and he never filled in the bare spots with sod. He also promised a follow up weed-and-feed application, but because I complained about the timer problem, he refused to do that too.
