Harlyn Wieland was the original founder of Wieland & Sons Lumber Company in 1948, when the corporation began as one man and his small portable sawmill. Several years later, three of Wieland s sons undertook his past responsibilities and formed a partnership that resulted in the incorporation of Wieland & Sons Lumber in 1982. This family-owned business is owned and operated by Ted, Dean and Jeff Wieland, with sites in Iowa and Wisconsin. The company does business in the entire continental United States and several foreign countries. It plays a major role in its community by providing employment to more than 100 full- and part-time employees.
