The Bank of Wisconsin Dells was chartered on Feb. 10, 1910, operating as the Farmers & Merchants State Bank. In 1944, Farmers & Merchants State Bank took over the assets of Kilbourn State Bank, an institution established in 1884. In June of 1969, the name was changed to Bank of Wisconsin Dells. The Lake Delton branch was opened in 1968, while the Community Bank of Portage branch opened in 1996. I've been banking with the Bank of Wisconsin Dells for over 20 years. My family has our checking and savings accounts with them, our mortgage, car loan and student loans as well. They're always happy to help and it's nice to be treated like a friend each time I walk through the door.
