I had the WONDERFUL experience of dealing with Monica the OWNER's daughter. My husband and I are planning to be in the Dells area from 05/15-05/17/15. I made a reservation on Expedia for 05/16/2015 and received my confirmation. Shortly there after I wanted to change my credit card the reservation was made on. I called and spoke with MONICA who was driving, as there season was not open yet and she answered my call as a courtesy. She asked that I emailed her all of my updated credit card information including billing address and pin on the back. I decided in todays secure environment to keep the reservation on the original card. This was 1 month ago. I received a call today from MONICA, who stated that my reservation was filled with a person who booked for two nights and that Expedia made an error booking for one night. She NEVER OFFERED ME TWO NIGHTS. She offered me a cabin at $75/night as that was the best she would do because the cabin was original $190/night. I looked up the cabin...it books at $95/night. Wish I could talk to her Momma or Daddy and let them know how wonderful their daughter is running their business.

Don't be fooled by their "webs...

Don't be fooled by their "website" (springhillmotel.blogspot.com); it's old and the info/photos are outdated (2005). I asked myself what kind of a legitimate establishment doesn't have a real website that's current, and instead operates off of a free blog site, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. My BF and I are the most laid back, low-maintenance couple you'll ever meet. (We are the type that will just giggle and eat the wrong restaurant order, or drink the wrong drink, in order to avoid bugging the waitress. We go out of our way to treat everyone w/respect and kindness, especially in the service industry where people can be treated so rudely.)During our 4-day stay (cut short to 3) the only thing we ever asked for was: 1) Batteries for the remote control (which my BF walked up to the office and got himself, and when that still didn't work, rather than BOTHER THEM again, we reprogrammed it and synced it to the TV ourselves using the instructions), and 2) We politely (both times!) let them know the 2nd & 3rd night that the hot water wasn't working. We should have known something was up when just these polite and perfectly reasonable requests still somehow seemed to anger and/or annoy them. On the 3rd night after happily waiting 30mins for them to fix the hot water (we were just killing time, hanging out in our room, waiting to take a shower so we could go to dinner) we answered a knock at our door and their "maintenance man" (aka the owner in his 50's-60's) literally YELLED "why you running water all day!? It cost me money!" In utter shock, we tried to explain that we'd been gone all day and had literally JUST returned to take a shower, but he wouldn't listen and just walked off. We went to the "office" (aka their living room) to try to reason w/the manager (Monica) and simply ask for tonight's money back so we could leave, but as I introduced myself to her and shook her hand she just rolled her eyes; I couldn't believe it. As we entered the room, an elder foreign lady (who appeared to be her Mom, and the older man's wife?) began harassing/interrupting us, randomly saying things like "oh, pool not good enough for you?! You on vacation, all you do complain, complain! >:(" (WHAT? o_O) (We had never seen or spoken to this woman before so it was obvious at this point that they had all been trash-talking us amongst each other throughout our stay, and that their definition of "complain" was obtaining batteries for the remote, and kindly reporting that there's no hot water, and patiently waiting for it, twice. What I find so ironic is that they somehow had angrily labeled us as this "uppety/ complainy" couple when that is the exact opposite of us. The entire time we were there they did not change our sheets ONCE; we didn't even mention it (even though my bf accidentally got a couple small spots of blood on it from a cut on his elbow! Every time we pulled the covers back, the same spots were there! The hot water did not work frequently so we went to bed a couple times w/out SHOWERING after swimming/sweating/wearing sunblock, etc. STILL didn't complain. We just slept in the same sheets!) The toilet did not flush correctly (had to hold it down and even then it spat up); we didn't even mention it. Their 2yr old daughter kept sticking her drooly hands in the PUBLIC ice machine; eating the ice, picking it up off the ground, etc. no complaints here!) In short, Monica sat there w/ a bored and snotty look on her face and refused to acknowledge my pleas (throughout which I remained perfectly diplomatic) while her "parents" proceeded yelling at us as if we were their own two children. We gave up, left, and checked into another motel that night w/NO refund whatsoever.
