Provided by YPmobileGood food, very clean, interesting menu. Had bad experience with server. While taking order she kept running her fingers through her stringy hair which looked as though it hadn't been washed for weeks. She did a little dance of celebration while telling of her upcoming days off. Returned to the table much too frequently coninually interupting conversation without regard or apology.
Without an obnoxious server would rate 5 stars.

Provided by YP.comWe go to Black Dog every week, sometimes twice, for the past 2+ years. I've still not had an opportunity to try everything on the menu because there are always specials offered and I usually end up trying them. We've had all of the servers at one time or another and all are extremely pleasant and efficient. Both bar tenders are friendly and quite creative as well. It's so nice to be able to get out of all of the busy traffic areas and long waits in line for other chain restaurants. It seems as they have a good many regular customers, which just goes to show that they please every time!

Provided by YP.comWell Jeanne51 must have hit it on a bad night. The Black Dog Cafe is great! and if she would have spoken up, the owners would have done anything to make things right. I know Jeff and Lori from coming into the restaurant and they are great people who work hard and want everyone to have a great experience. I think you should go back and try the restaurant again. The food is great- it just sounds like it may have been busier than expected or maybe you had a new server-the place is great, I eat there all the time. You are missing out if you do not give them a second chance. Be a good dog, and come again.

Provided by YP.comWe went here for a birthday celebration and had reservations. When we were seated the server informed us that they had one special of the day left. She went to wait on 4 other tables and came back to get our order, one of us ordered the special and, surprise, they had run out. there were 3 of us, each one had a different appetizer and entree. We had high expectations from all the publicity they received in a newspaper article and by word of mouth. Based on the appetizers alone I could tell what would follow would be disappointing. Every thing was over cooked, under seasoned or over salted, served cold and over priced. Appetizers were spring rolls, (fried too hard and filled with mushy rice noodles from over cooking), french onion soup, (salty broth, tasted like soup base) and 1/2 lb of shrimp, (small, nasty tasting, like they were in the freezer for a year). Main courses were duck, pork chops, seafood in pastry shell. The dining room was packed and they had 2 servers and one hostess working so the service was at a snail's pace. The servers were very polite, but ours came back only once during the main course to see how we were doing. When she cleared the table and two of the three plates still had 3/4 of the meal on them, she never inquired if any thing was wrong, did you enjoy the meal, was it cooked ok, etc. We will not be making a second trip.
