Provided by YP.comI just witnessed an ecounter while in the waiting room of New England Cat Care that I felt it important to post a preemptive review. Let me start by saying that New England Cat care is THE BEST cat veterinarian. They have taken care of 5 of my cats over the last 13 years and I truly believe that my kitties would not have lived as long and healthy a life had they not gone to this veterinarian. I had seen a number of vets prior to bringing them here and NO ONE ever gave my cats full phsical exams before. They looked in my cats' mouth, between his toes and everywhere in between. They saw a mouth cancer growing that no other vet found because they were afraid to go near my cat's mouth! The staff is excellent. Danielle is amazing and incredably helpful. Bottom line - Don't take your cats anywhere else.
Now, to what promted me to write this post. A gentleman came in to pick-up his kitties that were to be shaved that day. In overhearing the conversation (who couldn't, the guy was yelling) I found that Danielle was unable to complete his cat's grooming because that cat wouldn't sit still while the grooming shears were near. She was afraid that the cat or the staff might get hurt. She had recommended sedating the kitty so that she could finish the job if that's what the owner's wanted. Apparently, this man was outraged that he did not know what his visit would cost which, as I understand, also included the yearly checkup and whatever shots. (It seems Danielle had spoken with this guy's wife earlier about money). Danielle was very professional when dealing with an irate customer. I have known Danielle for over 5 years and I know she is very thorough in explaining things, including prices, to people. It all seemed like a miscommunication about prices to me, but the man stormed otu saying he was going to post bad things about my vet on the internet. No one posts bad things about my vet without me standing up for them.
Is New ENgland Cat Care an inexpensive place to bring your cats? No. Do they have skill, training, compassion and friendlness all in one so that your cat will remain healthy as long as possible. YES! GO THERE!

Provided by YP.comNot a place in CT is any better. The knowledge & care is outstanding. I've brought all 4 of my cats there, from a clean bill of health to severe cancer. The staff & Dr. Richter are very down to earth & they make you very comfortable. No question goes unanswered, you'll walk away knowing more about your cat than you ever expected. I'd recommend this place over any other vet in the state that I've been to.

Provided by YP.comWhen I lived in Philadelphia I brought my cat, Pancake, to a cat only veterinarian. When my wife and I moved up to CT we wanted to find the same care as we had in Philly. When I called New ENgland Cat Care, the receptioninst, Danielle, was very friendly and knew a lot about cats herself. I was never put on hold. I was able to get an appointment the next day. I saw Dr. Richter. He spent a lot of time with us and did not rush us in and out. He found a lump on my cat that I never new was there and that they never found at my old vet. He brought in the other vet to look at it. It turned out that it was cancer but they were able to get it all out. That was 3 years ago. I truly believe we would not have Pancake today if it were not for them. I wish the docs there would work on people!
