I would tell people to stay far away from the Woodbridge Mall Verizon Wireless (inside of the mall.) The one that is outside is outstanding. You wait awhile but it is worth it on on every level. My experience at the franchise store in the mall was the most negative experience that I have ever had at a store. I had just wanted to know truthfully if buying a phone outright was a better deal than the device pay plan. I do believe that the employees must receive some incentive to sell it this way otherwise I don't think they would push it in the same way. Because I voiced a strong difference in opinion to the employee (who said that the device pay has been around for 3 years and is cheaper in the long run which I find suspect,) she was condescending, disrespectful, rallied her colleagues not to wait on me, and called security on me, She claimed I was harassing her and other customers. I had asked the gentlemen next to me if they do device pay or buy the phone outright. They answered me nicely. The employees had the audacity to say I was harassing them. I still can't fathom a retail worker who argues and yells at a customer. It blows my mind. In my disbelief, I began typing what she was saying to me in my phone. How did she react to this? She claimed that she felt threatened and I was told not to talk or give my opinion to other customers. She continue to mutter to herself and filled out a report on me for the security guard to come to the store. The other workers who said they would help me kept telling me to wait a minute. I would have left but I was so befuddled that they had made me look like the bad guy when she was so rude to me, that I just stood to say my piece. They never did help me but a nice security guard did come. The security guard seemed helpful and stuck in a hard position. Who knows what she fabricated in her report. He said to the employees that I seemed matter of fact which I appreciated. He was really sweet and tried to help by telling me to buy a phone on line or go to another store. The employee continued her negative tone and attitude during this exchange even though I was crying from being so upset. Her colleagues continued to defend her and said that "it is all about perception." I watched one of the employees touch her arm when she started to rant to get her to stop. My final statement was "if anyone is harassing anyone, it is her." (she just wouldn't let up.) At that point, the security guard told me that it was time to leave which I did. I did thank her colleague Dylan for being professional and said to him "good luck with that one" as it seems that he may have to pick up the pieces with her lack of people skills. At least he was much more congenial. I promptly went to the corporate store and had a healing experience with kind and helpful professionals. Not only did they apologize for my experience but they told me that they have had other negative reviews from customers who have been there and they are trying to work with the manager of the mall store. They even have a cute bell that you can ring if you had great customer service. What a contrast from the other store. And I paid 200 dollars for my upgrade not 300. So, you get treated nicely and it is over 30 percent cheaper. Go figure. However, I am still reeling by the way I was treated and without cause. It is very sad that people, especially those who work as retail employees, are so unkind and willing to escalate phony charges because they have no customer service skills.
