Woodbury Mews Assisted Living was where my grandmother lived for the last 9 months of her life. At 91 years young she had lived in her own home until she fell and broke her shoulder. If it weren't for Woodbury Mews Assisted Living I don't know what I would have done. The staff at Woodbury Mews was wonderful and my grandmother became very fond of everyone at WoodburyMews. The nurses and her caregivers were wonderful and they treated her with dignity. Her room was always clean, she loved the food and never had anything bad to say about the place. Up until the day she passed away she always told us that she was very happy at Woodbury Mews and that she appreciated everything they did for her. I would definitely tell everyone this is a great place for your family members especially if you are looking for a place that has a lot of love, caring staff and makes everyone feel like they are family.

I am not usually one to write reviews, but I felt I had to for Woodbury Mews. My Mom lived here for 6 years. She started in the independent living (which she loved) and moved over to the assisted living (which she was resistant too at first but really grew to love as well). I can't say enough for how at home the staff made her feel each day. Now even though no place will ever be as good as "home" they really do try to be the next best thing. I have never had an issue that I could not get resolved. Mom made a lot of great friends there and she became very close to many of the nurses aides and staff members. Overall I can say that I would recommend this community to anyone who would ask me.

BEWARE!!

My mother resided in their locked dementia unit for almost 3 yrs and it was a constant battle with the facility. People in their dementia unit are not supposed to act like they have dementia. They pretty much run a nursing home with no guidelines and as long as u can't walk, talk and u stay where they put u they leave u alone. We had verified complaints to the Ombudsman of 1 shower in a whole month and medications being given to sedate without our knowledge or consent and they always seem to be short handed. My mother was given morphine as a first line of medication with no documented pain for that specific day or any other day. No history of any kind of disease or illness that would warrant such a harsh drug. It is my belief it was given to sedate but not realizing she would have such an adverse reaction to it it caused the opposite affect and cause a delirium. Woodbury Mews went as far as to take us to court to have our mother forcibly evicted claiming she was a threat to herself and others. My mother is an 80 yr old woman suffering from Lewy Body dementia. she weighs approximately 85 lbs and is confined to a wheelchair unable to stand by herself. My brother and I were the reason for my mother's forced eviction..We visited her every night and have since the day she was stricken with dementia and Yes we were guilty of holding them to task when it came to her care. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone who cares about their loved one. On one note I do want to say THANK YOU to her nurse CRAIG who was the only one who consistently took good care of her and never varied through all of the turmoil...one rose among many thorns. It is too bad he is only a part time employee because he is the only good thing I can say about Woodbury Mews....BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! And I would also like to add that the Director of Nursing put comments relating to my mother's situation on facebook..highly UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL!!! You should also know that if u plan to put a loved one into their dementia unit that according to the contract that they will make u sign you already do not meet the criteria for that unit..They will take your money and put your loved one out whenever they want to..IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY HERE!!
