We have been going to the Woodbury Station Cafe off and on for the past four years and for the most part have been happy with the food and service. We drive about 20 miles one way to eat there so it is a destination for us and not just some place to run out to for a meal.

On November 23rd we drove to the cafe for breakfast and decided to order something that we had not ordered in the past. We setteled on the Patricia Claire for each of us. Her's with the Sausage Gravy and mine with Hollandaise Sauce. When they came out they were served on a plain white dish. Two "drippy" eggs which cost about $0.15 each and what appeared to be two 2 inch in diameter potato pancakes made out of instant potatoes. These couldn't have cost more than about $0.10 each to make. I'll go out on a limb and say that the Sausage gravey and Hollandaise sauce cost about $0.50. That means that the entire plate cost about $1.00 to produce. There were no Beignets or toast served to dip into the "dippy eggs" and there was no garnish on the plate at all. For this we were charged $14.99 each. Now I'm no math wizzard but food that costs $2.00 and is sold for $30.00 is nothing short of an insult. There wasn't even a hint of value here.

After being served we waited for our waitress to bring toast or something but not only didn't it come...our waitress was too busy talking to her fellow employees to notice that I was trying to get her attention. Not wanting to cause a problem I just let it go. About five minutes into the meal she stopped by the table to see if everything was okay. We asked if toast or a Beignet came with the breakfast to dip into the egg. We were told that she would be happy to bring some toast over since we requested it. About two minutes later she returned to the table with one (1), yes one piece of toast. Again, rather than cause a problem I let it go in true Zen like fashion. Upon our exit while paying the bill, I was never asked if everything was satisfactory. If asked I would have voiced my displeasure but apparently no one cared.

I stewed over this for a day then decided to get on the cafe's web site to let them know of our displeasure. That was on November 25th. To date, no one has had the decency to return or even acknowledge my email. They did however (based on my email) add me to their email newsletter list. I didn't want to post this but feel that I should let my experiance be known to all since I was never contacted by the owner/management regarding my email. I don't think we will be returning.

Wonderful Atmosphere!!

Food was VERY good. We got Ham & eggs with French toast and the Steak & eggs. Both the ham & steak we're very tender. Service and atmosphere were excellent.

The small quaint Cafe is beautiful inside. The famous Beignets (pronounced Ben-Yays) are fantastic! Do you remember the small town carnival funnel cakes? They are easily three times more delicious (I walked away from the Cafe with powder on my shirt). The standard menu item is affordable, not pricey and I felt as though I a paid fair price. Also, every menu item is original. I ordered the Woodbury Express off the menu. First thing you'll noticed when when you walk into the Woodbury Station Cafe are the historic photos on the wall. The history goes waaaay back, you can read about it on the website (just bing it). I could easily see making this the usual "Sunday Brunch After Church" over your local box-restaurant. I appreciate the clean dishes, polite workers and warm environment. I'll be back to eat more Beignets with Chicory Coffee - I loved it.

like stepping back in time. the breakfeast and lunch are off the charts. The menu is a mix of what was and what is and what will be. A true welcome to the up and comming of woodbury. A great place for a family visit. Very upscale.
