We had a friend that normally goes to Micheals in Natomas so they recommended them to have some framing done. The art was a piece that my mom had done for us so we were probably a little more critical of how we wanted it done and so we explained to the gal behnd the counter what we wanted to do. Now this is where it gets interesting. She showed us a few options that we felt were okay not great but okay. She explained to us that she would use a coupon in the store flyer that had a 50 percent off coupon that would help save us some money. We thought that was nice of her. After entering our information in the computer she provided us with an estimate of the custom framing job. This is where my mouth fell open. After the 50 percent coupon the cost to frame the art was 632.50. This was 50 percent off mind you. The size of the artwork was 21x12. We have had other items framed that were much larger so we know with certain styles that you choose will change the price. We were shocked not so much by the 50 percent off but the full retail price. 1265.00 Who the hell are they kidding with that price? Did they think that we were idiots by trying to offer us a 50 percent coupon scam. We stepped asisde to talk about it and decided to hold off. The next day at work I was talking to a co-worker about the ordeal at Micheals and she had told me that she used to go to Micheals as well and that she had encounter a similar situation and she had a friend of hers tell her about the art gallery on main st that does framing and that is how we found Blue Wing Gallery and are we glad we did. They were very helpful knowledgeable and just down right friendly we felt like we had known them for years after we left there. If you want to find a great place to do Picture Framing in Woodland we highly highly recommend them.

After a bad experince at the other frame shop in town (I won't mention their name but they are located on kentucky st)



I found this frame shop. Wow is all I can say. They greeted me when I entered. The place was very clean and neat. They help me select the right colors for my print. They took the time to explain all of the different glass they I could use (never had a framer do that before) Actually I was a little overwhelmed with all of the information they gave me that I told them I would have to come back to absorb it all. I just never been to such a knowledgeable frame shop before. I have already purchased another print to have them frame that one as well. If you haven't tried this place I highly reccommend them.
