The Planning Division of the city of Woodland, Calif.,is responsible for advance planning, development review, public information, and permit processing. The Division provides staff support to the City Council (elected representatives) and the Planning Commission (appointed citizen planners). The City Council provides overall policy direction, adopts ordinances and regulations and acts as the hearing body for appeals of Planning Commission and Staff decisions. The Planning Department provides policy recommendations to the City Council and functions as a hearing body for most development projects within the City.
