Most of the time, doctor is no...

Most of the time, doctor is not there. She can only return calls at night. Staff gets annoyed when you call and when you ask too many questions. I have been through several doctors and clinics for me to know that there is a very big difference. My previous doctors were on point about emailing me or giving me calls about results. I have gone to Torrance Clinics, Columbia Pediatrics, Kaiser, UCLA etc.. And the receptionists and nurses at other clinics were always willing to help. (We moved around quite a lot for the past few years so I've been changing providers.)

My son had a CBC w/ diff lab test done last Friday 6/26/2015 and I have been so stressed out waiting for the results. I called Quest and they said it should be ready by the weekend. I called the clinic Monday and I was told that I would get a call from the doctor at night for the results. NO ONE CALLED. I called again the next day and they said they never called because the results were partially ready. I only want my son's hemoglobin level!!! And I'm sure it was READY!!!! I was willing to go in person to the clinic to get those results. My son's hemoglobin dropped from 12.1 (April 23) to 8.5 (6/26) - that's a big drop and I want to know if the recheck was still the same number. The sooner I get the results the faster I can get a specialist to take a look at it. But NOOOOO, I have to WAIT for the Doctor to call me when she can. I work nights so I asked if I could get an earlier call and the receptionist said, "Try the best you can, to answer her call" I was not given another option. She did not even listen to me. She did not care.

This was not the first time that I had to wait for the doctor to call me or wait for lab results. The last time I had a lab test done for my son from this clinic, I never got a call at all. Granting that it was all normal, isn't it common courtesy for doctors nowadays to call/email the patient that everything was checked out and what the plan of care is after? I've just gotten so used to all my other doctors doing that. Needless to say, I went to the ER a few days after that lab test because my son was not feeling any better. I then went to his GI doc at UCLA. If this was the kind of service we get at clinics I am not surprised we get so many pediatric patients (I am an ER nurse) in the ER for regular medical issues (non-emergent).

I wouldn't mind bad service if it wasn't for anything serious but my son has been sick a lot and I need a doctor or a clinic who will really take good care of his medical issues.

Believe it or not, this is my first ever review.
