The authority in great Mexican food for more than 65 years. Offering a memorable experience to make each guest feel like family. When Larry Cano opened the first El Torito in 1954, he didnt simply transform a rundown tiki bar into a bustling Mexican restaurant, he launched a revolution. Legend has it that El Torito was seminal in popularizing Mexican restaurant staples like the frozen margarita, tableside guacamole and sizzling fajita plattersas well as the best occasions to enjoy them, like Taco Tuesday and Cinco De Mayo.

We waited for a long time at the entrance and nobody ever came and got us a table, so we just walked in and found ourselves a table and sat down.
Restaurant environment was good, food were not bad. Peoples came here to celebrate birthday.

I'm surprised this restaurant has such low ratings considering my wonderful experience.

First, i had a delightful waiter who had no trouble not only getting my order right, but also customized it for me with no problem

Second, The food was very good (one typically only get really great Meixcan food at a much higher price.)

Third, the manager cruised the restaurant to make sure everyone was doing well

and finally, unique to my situation, I had a birthday coupon but we couldn't find the proper registration and they happily made the exception and let it slide.

All and all a wonderful dining experience from start to finish.

I have been to many El Torito in SoCal but dining at this El Torito was the absolute worst. Even though the cantina was empty except for a family enjoying their appetizer of guacamole dip, I was rushed out. I wasn't done with my dinner but someone came and cleared the table, and for the first time ever while dining out, the waiter took the signed credit card receipt while I was still working on my dinner. I did notice that the waiter was counting his tips as I was walking out. I guess his shift was ending and didn't want to lose out on the tip. As for the family that was there, it consisted of a father who was sitting at the bar, mother, and a daughter who looked like she was in middle school was enjoying the guacamole at a table right next to the bar. That's right! A minor was being served in the cantina! I was so angry with the experience that I was tempted to call the police about the minor being served right beside the bar. Never going back to this El Torito.

Tip Rip Off System

This place is the worst of all the waiter they rip you off not matter what they are all in it including the manager.
The include the tip on each bill with out any notice or even tell you about it on any party 2,3,4,5,6
They include 20% plus if you don't pay attention you double tip them.
They get of way with highway robbery
If you complain with the manager he tell you that it was a mistake but they do it over over but the way the food is terrible.
