The McHenry County Division of Transportation is a full-service transportation agency that is involved with other agencies of local government to provide transportation and planning. It operates engineering, land acquisition and construction units. The division administers a highway improvement program that is responsible for the grouping of maintenance, bridge, pavement management and operational projects. The McHenry County Division of Transportation issues highway access, facility installation and utility consent permits. It also supports an adopt-a-highway program for litter removal on state highways for individuals and community service groups. The division is located in Woodstock, Ill.
