I read some bad reviews on this place but there was literally no other actual sit down restraunt in the area so we just hoped for the best and tried Jakes. I liked the dog theme and thought the establishment looked up to date and clean, decent service but the food was not good at all. My husband had a cordon blu sand which and the slice of ham on it looked like it came from the deli of your local lunch meat counter. I had a philly steak sand which, both meals came out hot but this sand which was sooo bland, I asked for an au jue sauce to maybe make it better but that just made it soggy and bland. I tried adding steak sauce to it but no luck. We are both known to always finish our meals or take some leftovers home for later but there was no getting thru this meal. We could have gotten a better meal at the gas station across the street.

Decent food but prices a bit high for the area for what it is.

Nothing stands out here. Could use some more/better service.

I'd give the food 4 stars, the service less than 1 star.

Three out of the four of our dining party ordered steak and the waitress did not check back on us ONE TIME to see if it was cooked how we requested. Two of the four of us ordered a bar beverage and the other couples sodas and appetizer arrived well before our drinks did. (Had they been busy I could've understood the hold-up, but the dinner rush had not begun and the bar was not full.) Additionally, salads came with 3 of our dinners and we did not receive those until I reminded the waitress as we paid our bill. Also, we were seated by the kitchen door and I noticed several trays on a cart lined with plated desserts that were NOT covered. The waitress did ask if we wanted any dessert and we politely declined. I would highly recommend the place for dinner but I would sit at the bar - hopefully the service would be better.
