I expected so much more from this place. The food is expensive and tries to hard to be gourmet. So much is added to the seafood you can't taste the main ingredient. I was looking for fresh yummy seafood...It was lost to the recipe.

The first time I went to Sp I thought it was an excellant resturant and a decent value. That was 2009. Each successive visit the food was worse and the price was up. I was there a month ago and I order surf and turf. The steak looked like a breakfast steak you would get eggs and toast with for $6. The shirimp, all 5 of them, were the kind you can by a 5 Lb bag at the supermarket for $10. I sent everything back and left. I will never go back.

Pretty good overall but not spectacular

I've eaten several times at the Sole Proprietor and most of it has been good. Evenings, especially weekends can be crazy, with long waits to get a table and slow service. The food is pretty good but not everything on the menu is great. I've had the lobster ravioli in appetizer portion which is very good but the stuffed sole was just OK. Salads aren't bad, but not spectacular. Desserts are brought in from the local bakery. The carrot cake is not very good, too dense and too much frosting. The sushi is pretty good as is the clam chowder. Not a gourmet feasting restaurant by any means but better than your average chain restaurant.

Excellent Seafood

I've been a regular at The Sole for years and they never disappoint. The menu changes with what is in season so even if you visit often, there is always something new to try.
