Established in 1914, the Worth Police Department works to provide law enforcement services and ensure the safety and security of citizens. It has a bicycle unit that patrols in complicated areas, including walking paths, parks, schools, businesses and sidewalks. The department s investigation division is responsible for the detailed investigation of adult and juvenile criminal offenses. The Worth Police Department also investigates drug, vice and organized criminal activities. In addition, it maintains patrol, communication and crime prevention units. The department supports neighborhood, vacation and senior watch programs, as well as conducts child safety seat inspections. The Worth Police Department Project also hosts Project ChildSafe, which is a nationwide program that helps to ensure safe firearms ownership and storage. It is located in Worth, Ill.
