Traveling from St Louis MO to mid-NE on 7/12pm, I lost a trailer tire. Pulled off I-70 at 54, was told to go to the 24 hr TA Tire - they wouldn’t touch it (under 17”). The big guy behind counter gave me a card and said “call them (Quick Fix Tire) just down the road in the next town”. He said they’ll come to you. I called, the guy said $75 for a new trailer tire and $40-50 for a wheel if needed. He then said $65 trip charge. I asked if they could do anything to reduce the cost since I was disabled and a senior citizen, He said no. After a long wait I tried calling back several times to cancel but I kept getting “the voice mail box was full” message. Searching online while waiting I realized they probably waited until the local stores that sell trailer tires and wheels for $109-$129 each closed. The guy in his unmarked truck got there @1-1/2 hrs later. First he looks at the roughed up rim, says no garantee it’ll hold air ... gets the tire and wheel from the truck. He got 1 jack, it didn’t pump enough...then went to get #2 then #3. After installing, He starts writing the bill $75+$50. Then $180 labor and $65 trip charge. Looking over his shoulder I asked what the heck is the $180 labor charge for? He says he had to drive an hour there and back. The guy on the phone said he had to drive from the shop (just down the road). I had little choice but to sign and argue later. I called the phone number a couple more times right away and this guy said “I thought I made it clear.”
I told him he needs to make this right. He asked me what would make it right. I told him knock off $180. He said too much, he’d call the owner and call me back. I said if you don’t I’ll be calling back. Everytime I call, I get the message “this voice mail box is not set up”. Of course He never called me back.

MILEAGE IS NOT LABOR
If I don’t get a resolution (refund) SOON - I will file reports with the local and State Police.
Thanks, Lew Evans

Lost wheels and hub on my trailer left rear side going through Bowling Green south on Route 40/61 Missouri from Iowa. Called Dave at Quick Fix and he showed up within 35 minutes in a fully loaded van equipped to do full service commercial truck and trailer repair. The mechanic has 30 years experience behind his wrench. He professionally installed a new hub and seal torqued to specification RP 618A followed by the installation of 2 nicely used rims and tires completed with 32 ounce fresh gear oil. I was severely impressed with his quick and assertive professionalism in this industry! It's been months since the repair and wheels are still tight! Bill Varnell.
