My wife just brought a takeout breakfast home for us. I ordered an omelette. I am not sure exactly what I got, but it sure wasn't an omelette. For whatever reason the cook decided to bury all the good parts of the meal inside the egg. Why would someone do this? An omelette is simple. Fry an egg, then put the inner parts like ham, bacon or cheese on the egg, fold it and cook. Mixing the ingredients with the egg before it is cooked seems like the work of a no talent hack. Is there a shortage of qualified cooks downriver these days, because I have been disappointed at several restaurants downriver (but only downriver) in the last year trying to pass off a version of what can best be described as enhanced scrambled eggs as omelettes the past few months. It's sad when someone starts to rate military omelettes higher than restaurants.
