We went here for the first time today and enjoyed it so much that we plan to go back later this week. I was a bit skeptical at first because I didn't think it would be a quality park, but I was pleasantly surprised. There wasn't a whole lot for day users, but we only wanted a park where we could swim and picnic outside and that's exactly what we got. We went on a Wednesday morning and had the beach to ourselves for several hours. The beach is nice and clean and the swimming area is sectioned off from the rest of the lake, so you don't have to worry about boats or fishermen. Pets are not allowed; we made the mistake of bringing our dog and had to run him home first before going in. Overall, we had a great time at Collin Park and will likely continue to go there for fun beach days.

I agree that the marina is a very nice place to be and we had a great weekend there in July. I do want to point out a comment in another review regarding the restaurant and the boat rental. I agree, the restaurant needs work, but the boat rental was fantastic and it's under new ownership this year. We thought the service and the boats themselves were just perfect and we have been back twice already. They really try to make it a good time.

Collin Park is nice. I have been going there since before they charged anything to get in, when it was still run by the Army Corp of Engineers. I have to give the restaurant at the marina a low rating because you can smell the old grease in the fryers from the other side of the lake and the customer service is not what you would call good or customer focused and the same can be said about the boat and jet ski rental, both of which are owned by the same family. But, beyond that, if you bring your own food and water craft, you should have a great experience. The marina and slips are nice, as well as the day use park and beach.

We love this place. Great beach area. Felt almost like being at the ocean. Kids love it. Plenty of space to stretch out a blanket and have a picnic by the water.
