Doug Ryder is the founder and president of Ryder IP Law, PC ("RIPL"). Prior to forming RIPL, Doug had nearly five years experience as an IP attorney. Immediately prior to forming RIPL, Doug was the lead IP attorney for a patent consulting company. The company created patent portfolios for their clients as well as creating strategic patent portfolios for internal projects. Doug played a vital role in the preparation and prosecution of an extensive US and foreign patent portfolio in the area of targeted advertising solutions, including profiling of viewers, advertisement matching, and advertisement delivery. Prior to this Doug worked at IP boutique firms where he counseled clients regarding IP matters and handled various IP matters for the clients. Prior to becoming an IP attorney, Doug was a program manager for a company that designed, developed and deployed systems controlling oceanic air traffic control to the FAA. Prior to this, Doug was a system engineer where tasks included analyzing the deployment readiness of various FAA systems, analyzing failed components and suggesting manufacturing or design changes for various missile programs, provisioning of parts for various military systems and designing a radiation hardened computer system. Doug has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, a Masters of Engineering Management from George Washington University, and his J.D. from the University of Maryland Law School.
