Antioch Publishing
888 Dayton St, Yellow Springs, OH 45387
Antioch Publishing began as a result of its founders' creativity and aversion to waste. In 1926 Ernest Morgan and Walter Kahoe were students at Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Antioch's press, like many print shops, generated barrels of paper cutoffs. Distressed with this situation, the two students decided to turn waste into opportunity. In exchange for janitorial work and as a part of the Antioch College program of work and study, they used the shop's press after hours to print decorative bookplates on strips of waste paper. This pastime grew into a company. In the 1980's the company was renamed the Antioch Publishing Company and established operations in Canada and the United Kingdom. Antioch expanded in 1985 with the purchase of the Holes-Webway photo album company. Antioch Publishing is the arm of The Antioch Company that provides book accessories, gift and stationery products. The company has a location in Sparks, Nev.
