Provided by YP.comMy family and I were excited that a well-known butcher was near us when we moved nearby. Boy, did it slap us in the face today. I went to Stewart’s to by raw meat to make jerky. They only had top round so I went with it vs my usual preferred type. First, I had a meat cutter “tell” me what how I wanted the meat cut when I already knew what “I” wanted. I explained that I been making it for years and would like it a certain way. She told me when they make jerky, they do it a certain way. She didn’t except it and asked management. He told her it was my meat so whatever. Then I explained I would like it cut in strips and not in flat sheets for jerky. She once again asked management. He told me they are going to cut it in flat sheets and then I can do whatever I want with it when I get home. My family will never go to this so called butcher shop again. I will go to a large company grocery store from now on instead of a local business for my cuts.

Provided by YP.comStewart's is family owned for 3 generations and is excellent. Just good meat nothing added. I've shopped there for 40 years, still do - just put in an order. If it's not right, tell them! No one can fix an error if they do not know about it. Prices are as good as Costco or better. Best meat shop ever.

Provided by YP.comAfter buying half a cow with some friends, we were all very disappointed. We could not believe some of the meat when we opened packages. T-bones were NY strip and bone, nothing on the other side. Cube steak was the outter ring of a round steak, put through the machine and mostly fat. The taste was not that good either, we gave a lot of it away, just to get rid of it. I expected better and will return to getting meat from South Hill, where the taste is great and you get a quality cut of meat.
