Founded in 1978, ACCESS-York is a program of the YWCA of York that provides free services to victims of domestic violence. It offers emergency shelters, transition housing and programs for women, as well as provides community education, prevention and intervention services throughout York County, Pa. The agency s children program provides emotional support, relationship counseling, school tutoring, socialization skills enhancement and domestic violence education, as well as assistance in school enrollment. It also offers training, community education and outreach programs. The agency s Homeless Student Initiative Program provides education support for homeless children between the ages of 3 and 18. Additionally, it offers legal, medical and welfare advocacy programs.
