Nice And Gentle

My visit went well. Had 2 fillings. Hardly felt the numbing shot in my gum. He is not a full service dentist. No extractions, or root canals. Thats the only problem with him. The one girl answers the phone can be quite grumpy. She was to call when she knew what i'd have to pay and i had to call 3 days later. He's a nice dentist and gentle as a dentist can be.

The only reason this business ...

The only reason this business even received one star is because I was forced to choose a rating. If it were up to me, I would choose a -* or two.

The reason for this decision was for several reasons. One, when I discovered that the company incorrectly told me that my insurance was accepted, they refused to take responsibility. Instead of performing some level of good customer care, they decided to hang up on me on the phone because I had several questions regarding this and they were ready to go home for night! The receptionist said, "We are closing and can't deal with this right now."

I discovered again that they had not confirmed my insurance card whatsoever until I brought it to their attention. The insurance representative sent me a copy of the information showing that they had never verified my insurance even though they told me that they had!

After not allowing me to come in to sit down with their financial department to work something out or bring this to the attention of Dr. Schaefer because his staff members were treating me so poorly at this point, I finally told the person that the least I could do at this point was give them a bad review.

As soon as I said this to the woman on the phone, (I have all names written down by the way), she said to me, "You can go ahead and do that, and we will let all of our partners that we d business with know who you are." If you are at all familiar with HIPPA laws, this is completely illegal. I told her so and ended the discussion.

Needless to say, they were reported to BBB and the local HIPPA agency for their discretions.

When a patient calls for an appointment we contact their insurance company to be sure that they are elligible for benefits. We also call the insurance company and get a estimation of their co-payment. We do this with every patient that we schedule. We qoute them their estimated co-payments before they leave this office. I must stress the word 'estimated' because insurance companies never guarantee payment. All patients sign a financial responsibility agreement stating that they are responsible for payment not made by their insurance.We follow all HIPPA guidelines. We do not have any partners to report a patient to, as stated in your review. We have been in business since 1982 and have never had a problem of this type until now. If you would like to contact me I will be available to discuss your disatisfation with our office.
