Relying on simulation technology and gifted instructors, our students graduate confidently ready to enter the workforce. Owned by S&H Express, Shelly Truck Driving School is one of the few private truck driving schools operated by a leading trucking company in the region. And our instructors, with a combined 75-plus years of driving experience, provide practical, real-life examples and training to our students. Our school is certified by the PA Dept. of Education through the Private License School Bureau. We’re approved as a third-party CDL testing site by PennDOT, and we are members of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA) and the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA). Our school is on Mulberry Street in York, PA, close to Hudson Street and N. Sherman Street. Shelly Truck Driving School in York, PA offers 160 hours of rigorous, hands-on instruction to help students pass their CDL exam and start their career in the transportation industry. On our TransMaster Plus® driving simulator, students can get comfortable driving a truck before they even enter the cab. It’s here that they master the basics of driving, including starting, shifting, and handling, before they move on to more advanced road and yard skills. In our school’s yard, instructors train students on vital yard skills, including docking, parallel and offset parking, coupling, and backing up. Instructors also give students experience driving on the roads and highways in Southcentral PA, where they learn to start and stop on a grade, handle curves and hills, entering and exiting highways, turns, and upshifting & downshifting. By the end of our four-week course, most student have the confidence to drive a commercial vehicle in nearly any condition.
