Founded in 1992, South Central Preferred is a local, nonprofit agency that offers various health management solutions to meet the needs of individuals throughout south-central Pennsylvania. It provides preferred provider organization (PPO) services to some of the leading employers in the local area. In addition, the agency conducts monthly customer service surveys for members and also offers gift prizes. South Central Preferred serves employers, health care providers and large companies. It has partnerships with several health insurance companies to access a network of more than 6,000 physicians and clinicians, as well as over 15 hospitals. The agency offers self-funded medical policies for employers who offer fully insured plans to their employees.
