My husband & I have found the quality and customer service of The Medicine Shoppe pharmacy first-rate and unparalleled compared to any other local drugstore. Each and every person on the staff is super friendly, very knowledgeable, and will go out of their way to assist every customer in any way possible. Lynford, the head pharmacist, has gone above & beyond to argue with my insurance company to make sure that the maximum amount of payment was made on my prescriptions. I love that "small town apothcary's shop" feeling I get each time I'm waited on at The Medicine Shoppe. I never have to wait longer than 10-15 minutes maximum for my prescriptions, unlike one of the larger places such as CVS or Walgreens, where I've waited up to as long as an hour for one script. Even though The Med Shoppe is not on the list of preferred pharmacies for our insurance company, I wouldn't change for any price.

First of all, PLEASE do not make a judgement on the York Med Shoppe based on Crystal D's scathing review. I don't know what bug she has up her butt, but her assessment cannot possibly be further from the TRUTH. I have had THREE spinal surgeries which requires some lightweight pain meds. Places like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid have such arrogant pharmacists who make a pain patient feel like a guilty criminal when filling this type of Rx. Emotionally, it was beating me up until I found the Med Shoppe after 3 years ago. These people - ALL OF THEM - treat me like a friend who they genuinely care about. Since I still take about 5-6 meds per day, I still rely on the Med Shoppe for timely, cost effective, well filled Rxs several times per month. NOW, instead of being anxious about my visits to a pharmacy, I actually LOOK FORWARD TO IT!! Let me tell you how much I trust and like the Med Shoppe employees. I recently moved to Myerstown from York - a distance of about 65 miles. BUT, I still try to schedule Rx pickups in a way that when I do return to York for other reasons, I use them as my pharmacy of choice. Now, granted, I cannot possibly use them exclusively anymore due to the distance, but I have another GREAT Med Shoppe in Myerstown, too - Mike's Pharmacy, a Med Shoppe partner. In conclusion, who are you going to trust in making your all important decision about selecting a reputable, reliable, price competitive pharmacy? Is it Crystal D, who likely is just generally mad at the world, or me, a 65 year old guy, who has a few chronic issues that require daily meds, that absolutely DEPEND on a top notch pharmacy for expert and timely filling of Rx's? Do yourself a favor and ignore the negative attitude!! I've tried more pharmacies at several locations than I care to count. Hands down, MED SHOPPE IS BY FAR THE VERY BEST!!!!!
