York Country Day School, founded in 1953, is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school that enrolls students in prekindergarten through grade 12. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, Spanish, French, fine arts and computers. The school offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as instrumental ensemble, theatrical productions, a student council, art exhibitions, science fairs, newspaper and yearbook. It also provides a variety of athletic activities, such as soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, field hockey and softball. In addition, the school offers financial assistance to eligible students. Located in York, Pa., it is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and is approved by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools and the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools.
