Based in Yorktown, Va., York County Public Library offers books, DVDs, CDs, eBooks, eAudiobooks, electronic resources, Internet access and more. Library cards are available to all residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia, ages 4 and over. It caters summer reading programs for children, teens and adults. The Library has two meeting rooms available for organizations to use that work under the York County Board of Supervisors' Policy BP94-14, Use of County Buildings. The meeting rooms are available for public gatherings of cultural, civic and educational organizations. The York County Public Library has received the Picturing America grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
