They are fantastic! The hardworking guys who pick up our bins each week are friendly and efficient. I've called about special pickups/other services a few times in the past and always found Republic to be very accommodating.

Haven't received a bill for approx. 8 months, I have spend at least 3-4 lunch hours on hold only to get disconnected. I've been paying my average bill every other month, so I do not get my service disconnected. IMPOSSIBLE to contact - however, skip paying your bill and they will not pick up. I had much better service with my prior company WOLFORDS~ however my township made it mandatory to use Allied Waste Svc. IF I had a choice I wouldn't use them PERIOD.

First it took 20 minutes to get thru; but found out they bought out the small town company I used to use. We had been away 6 months and needed to restart service, they had no info on my address so they had to call back - in the mean time I found another co that was $5/month cheaper so I went with them and called Allied/BFI after hours and left a message. So the next day they called back anyway asking for someone who I tried to sell my house to land contract a couple years ago (and they couldnt continue payments so we got the house back). But then I remembered 2 years ago when we got the house back and checked out pricing again that BFI told me that the buyers had owed then money and they wouldnt give me service. So i am assuming they wouldnt give me service now anyway b/c of it. Not sure if this in normal industry practice, but how can they penalize a new occupant when they almost have the market in our area(esp since all my utilities bills have always been paid on time). Their loss - but thankfully there is another co that services our area now since Allied/BFI bought out City Disposal.

Allied/BFI has terrible customer service, phones busy a lot and hold time too Lo--oong. Liked the employees when i used to have them years ago but they wont let me sign up again (even tho i have paid all my utilities on time) b/c of a bad renter i had (in a rent to own deal that went bad). But they bought out the local co i liked to use --- but thankfully a new co came to the area so I wont have to put my trash with the neighbors anymore!

I am very disappointed in their pricing. After they went on strike I decided to call around for other service only to find out that their prices were more than double of other companies. Shame on you!

I dealt with the Teamsters for over 20 years. Ruthless. I will remain a loyal customer to a business that does a great job, supports the community, provides good jobs and benefits. The unions have nearly ruined this town. Hang in there Allied. I am with you!

I've had no problems with trash pickup, BUT they have raised their rate every single billing period (i.e. EVERY 4 months) by $2 and some odd cents for the past 6 years I've had them. They started out less than $16 a month in 2006 and are now $21.29 per month as of the last billing period (End of March 2011) and I average 1 or 2 bags at most per week. That's a huge increase (who else gets a pay raise every 4 months? I don't have ONE bill where the price didn't go up regardless of gas prices going down at times, etc. But the worst is I just got a bill mid-pay cycle (already past due since I wasn't expecting it and was gone on a business trip for 3 weeks) for $2.05 more for the month of June (I've never seen them raise it mid-cycle and I'm not sure if that's even allowed by contract). However, it only went up $0.75. The other $1.30 is for "administrative fees". So in other words, they charged me for THEIR time to send me a surprise bill to give them more money! UNBELIEVABLE!

Allied Waste is a disgrace. I was paying for a service of extra trash weekly and they decided to stop picking up extra unless I call in advance and say that I have extra. I cancelled their service and waited 2 months for them to pick up their can and still 3 months later they have not refunded my money yet. You can never get through to their service reps. This trouble is all from the Salem Office.
