I've been going to Jose's for years now and have always loved it here. The wait staff has almost always been prompt and efficient, not to mention fun. Heathers, Katie and Kathy just to name a few are outstanding. We went to dinner here 1 to 2 times a week for years. Recently I have noticed a distressing trend. This restaurant might just be a victim of the economy but I am saddened by the current service. Last night 12/6/12, we waited 15 to 20 minuits to get a table when there were clearly 10 tables vacant or needing cleaned. When we did get seated the table was sticky and the service was even slower, it took an additional 20 to 25 min. to get our order. We havent been here but 4 times in the last 6 months because this is now becoming standard practice. If your looking for a combination plate on the new menu look under the heading Tacos , This makes no sense whatsoever! I think they are understaffing the restaurant because the customers are not consistant but the rub hers is the customers are not consistant because the service is going down. The restaurant maintenance is falling short also, the walls are dinged up and the doors to the bathroom hallway from the dining room are damaged by the staff and look horrible. The food is now very plain and the salsa could be the worst I've ever had, very watery and to much onion and cilantro. The owner need to send someone in there to give an impartial review to see If they can straighten this restaurant up. I know others have no complants but I've been talking with friends and relatives and they are agreeing with me. I hope things bet better soon, There are to many options here in Yucaipa, I guess I might need to start looking around. One more little thing. It was Thursday night football also and a couple women at the bar were yelling obscenities freely which could be heard in the dining room occasionally and these ladies were un checked by bar staff. I know its a bar but they had several families seated in the bar with children! Isn't there some standards anymore? Please don't seat children in the bar if you are going to allow this behavior or train the staff to react properly to this situation. I hope things get better here I believe they can !
