Provided by YP.comI GUESS ALL PEOPLE DO LOVE MONEY AND GREED. BUT I FIRST REALIZED THAT WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I DECIDED TO RENT WITH BURKETT REALTOR. MY HUSBAND IS IN THE MILITARY AND WE NEEDED A PLACE TO LIVE RIGHT AWAY ( THE BASE HAD NO HOUSES AVALIABLE TO US) SO WE THOUGH EVERYTHING WILL BE GOOD IF WE WENT WITH A REALTOR. WELL MY HUSBAND DID THE CONTRACT SIGNED IT AND PAYED 750.00 MONTHLY AND 750.00 FOR THE DEPOSIT. WELL WHEN WE MOVED IN THE HOUSE WAS CRAPPY IT STUNK, THERE WAS RED STUFF ALL OVER THE WALLS, RED STANS ALL OVER THE CARPET LIKE THE CARBET WAS NEVER CLEANED, CABNETS WHERE ALL BLACK WITH DIRT AND GRIND, PLUS ABOVE ALL THE YARD WAS UGLY (DEAD). WE PAYED EVERYDAY ON TIME EVERY MONTH. WELL MY HUSBAND GOT ORDERS IN SUCH SHORT NOTICE (MILITARY FOR YOU) SO WE HAD TO MOVE OUT. THEY GAVE US A BUNCH OF CRAP ABOUT US MOVING OUT THAT WE HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA MONTH EVEN IF WE ARE NOT LIVING THERE. THEN THEY SAID THAT SINCE WE DIDN'T TURN IN A PAPER SAYING EVERYTHING THAT WAS WRONG WITH THE HOUSE THAT WE ARE PRETTY MUCH SCREWED. THEY NEVER EVEN OFFERED US THAT WITH THE RETAL AGREEMENT. SO KNOW WE ARE GOING TO LOOSE ARE DEPOSIT BECAUSE OF DAMAGES TO THE HOUSE BEFORE WE RENTED THE HOUSE.
I RECOMMEND FOR EVERYONE TO READ A CONTRACT CLOSELY AND ASK QUESTIONS ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR DEPOSIT.
BURKETT REALTOR IS SHADDY AND THEY HAVE A SET MIND TO KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT.

Provided by YP.comIf I had read the reviews prior to renting with this property management company, the outcome would still been the same. I figured new managers would have rotated into position but not the case. These managers look to have worked here since the beginning of time!
ON another note; Burkett Company realtors seemed very eager to rent and fix anything needing repairs. Once the rental agreement was signed their attitudes changed direction. One major flaw, of many, was that the home had no operating smoke detectors. AZ law requires landlords to place a working smoke detector in each bedroom and in hall; the property managers were not willing to meet this requirement, I had to go as far as have the city Fire Marshall call the property mangers to remind them of their responsibilities and liability in this arena. Needless to say after the conversation, it was expedited. Seems I often have to refer to the rights and responsibilities of landlords and renters when major requests are made, which is something they should be privy to! Every issue is met with resistance and noncompliance with these property managers and it is only the beginning of our lease. Maybe they figure if they ignore us we will stop calling them; NOT THE CASE WITH THIS RENTER! This is going to be a LONG YEAR OR A SHORT LEASE!! Many owners seek the assistance of property managers for help and because they don't want to be burdened with renters but if you request the owner's information and they refuse to give it you (by any reason other than the owner's request) then this may be a shoddy company full of unprofessional workers!!

Provided by YP.comBurkett Company has a history of not paying their vendors. Do not do business with them! Their administrative assistant ( Wendy) is the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure to do business with. They are a big corporation and believe in screwing the little guy. Intimidating quotes are attached to the bottom of all emails, with the "show no mercy" message. I fully believe that these are meant to scare their creditors.

Provided by YP.comWe were looking for a new apartment with more closet space and a dining room. We found an apartment blocks from where we lived and decided to check it out even though my boyfriend said the area was not the best. The apartment looked "ok" at first, but the inside was just what we were looking for. It was not the newest property, but the design was lovely. After signing with burket we figured out there was a roach infestation in the place. Ugh!! They said they were not liable for it and made us pay for all the treating. The lady even went as far as saying "Well, it is Yuma." Every condo was infested, thus it was hard to keep the infestation under control. We finally decided we could not do it any longer and contacted some renter's rights group. They informed us that only the routine spraying was our responsibility, but infestations like that where entirely their responsibility to handle. WE told them what we heard and we moved out. They made us pay extra to move in early even though we did not want to (we had already payed rent at our previous apartment) and we did not live there for most of the month because of the roach problem. They did not refund us the money spent for insecticides and useless rent, but they agreed to the deposit. 3 weeks later we are still waiting for this deposit. They are very greety people. I understand it's a business, but wihtout tenants they would have no business. I have live in other places where they care about your needs. We have a wonderful condo now and guess what? We do not have cockroaches or any other bug :)
