Provided by YP.comTom added and graded dirt around a new pole boarn and put in an asphalt driveway for us last fall. Tom is VERY professional, easy to get a hold of, he gives you his cell number, there when he says he will be there and doesthe job agreeded upon. We love working with business men like Tom who take pride in their company and work. We would recommend T. Burke every time!

Provided by YP.comI am an officer of a homeowners association that obtained quotes from several asphalt companies for a significant repair to our road. After obtaining quotes and getting to know 5 companies in the area we choose T. Burke's. We are glad we did. Tom's price was about the same as the others, but he did a better job in analyzing why our road failed and made a repair that should last. The quality of the work exceeded expectations. The project was completed on time. In addition to repairs to the association common property, he repaved several driveways in the development. The work is perfect. Tom has to be the finest gentleman in the business and you will be cheating yourself if you do not include Tom Burke in your project. Based on what I know from experience with Tom, the negative reviews in this blog are quite irrational, most probably written by competitors. Tom is an honest hard working good man.

Provided by YP.comWe hired T Burke last summer to do our driveway. Our driveway ends at a busy road. Even though the dirt was removed/flattened at the road, a 4 ft section was left uncovered by the asphalt. Plus the driveway was made straight, not curved at the road as most driveways are. We discussed our displeasure with this at the time of payment. He signed a paper stating his promise that he would complete the driveway in the fall as he had already started another job. He seemed a nice guy and we are nice people........so we paid him on this premise, which was our mistake. We have not seen him since. We have called him to remind him not to forget about us, but that hasn't worked either. So, no, as of right now, I wouldn't recommend T Burke to anyone.
I appreciate this customer's business and stated to them that once we shut down at the end of november we will widen the radius at the road by approximatelt four square feet. We are scheduled to do these repairs next week and I have called the customer to confirm this. The driveway was over 6000 square feet and I believe it to be of a very high quality. I hope this one star rating doesn't reflect their opinion of the rest of the driveway.

Provided by YP.comThis company tore our asphalt for my residential home driveway in Ann Arbor, and replaced it with concrete. Their quote was the most reasonable, and was almost half the cost of some other quotes I had gotten. The final product looks fantastic! There were some delays in getting the job completed, mainly due to rainy weather. They pulled out a basketball hoop along the side of the driveway at no extra charge--which was a challenge, since it was embedded in concrete. They finished the edge of the driveway very nicely to merge into a brick patio--seamless and much beter than I expected! They added dirt and grass seed along the sides of the new driveway as a final touch--the appearance of the driveway looks great now! I have already had family and friends asking about who did the work and what their contact info is.

Provided by YP.comI would recommend T. Burke's to all my friends and family. We hired Tom last summer to do patch work and sealcoating at our house on Scio Church in Ann Arbor. We were very pleased with the work. Tom explained everything in depth and his crews had a great attention for detail. His sealcoat crew was extremely careful and did not get the tar or rubber on any of my landscaping. I had a lot of questions and concerns about some of the work, but Tom was very knowledgeable and put me and my wife at ease. We were having a show and Tom found the time to move us up in his schedule. He told me they were scheduling about a month out on jobs, but Tom squeezed us in within two weeks cause of the show. His guys finished in two days and ended up staying to about 9pm on Friday to finish in time for my show. This really showed me how dedicated Tom and his staff really are. Tom was at my house with his guys each day and stayed late with his crew on Friday so the job was finished for our show. Thanks so much Tom for your hard work. We will defintely be calling you when we sealcoat again next year! Thanks so much!

Provided by YP.comI do not recommend T. Burke. I don't write reviews but I felt compelled in this case as the professionalism, service, and follow-through were so poor. Unfortunately, my experience with T. Burke was the typical, clichéd contractor experience: the work was incomplete; he did not do the work he said he would do; he did not fix the work that was under warranty; and he did not return phone calls. The overall interaction was one of empty promises followed by essentially "skipping town" after receiving payment. Beware; otherwise do not handover any payment until every single thing is complete as you will not be able to rely on T. Burke's sense of professionalism or decency.
I don't know how to respond to this review. I am not sure of the nature of service this person hired me to do, as they don't mention anything about it in their review. My cell phone number (517- 206-5934) is published at my web site and if anyone should have a complaint they would always be able to phone me directly from 8am to 9pm. This person doesn't give any specifics as to what type of work was not completed and why they felt we didn't do the work we agreed to do. I can only say this, we NEVER collect money up front for the work we contract to do and NEVER receive payment until it is complete, which leaves me puzzled as to whether I am the contractor this person claims to have hired? As far as decency and professionalism, shouldn't an accused person be able to answer the details of a complaint logged against them?

Provided by YP.comT. Burke did a great job, with the best price and performed professionally! They did work for me twice over the past 5 years and the first job still has no cracks or buckles.
Thanks T. Burke!

Provided by YP.comI used T. Burke to asphalt my driveway and I couldn't be happier. I talked with several companies and requested bids. T. Burke not only gave the best bid, the owner, Tom, was very informative about what they were going to do. The job was completed within one day and the work crew was respectful of my property. It was an excellent experience.

Provided by YP.comPrice was competitive with the quality and workmanship of our new concrete driveway being very good. I would recommend T. Burke's Concrete Paving for residential driveways.

I'd heard good things about this company from a couple of people, so I decided to hire them to repave my driveway (concrete). They were conscientious enough doing the work, and I felt good about the job as they finished up. Overall, the driveway looked, a few cracks emerged after a month or so. No big deal - they'd come out and look at them, and if the cracks needed attention, they'd take care of that, right? Wrong. For several months now, I've played phone tag with the owner (Tom), who's given me lame excuses (example: "Oh - my foreman hasn't been out there yet? I'll make sure he takes care of it this week."), repeated promises to see to the issue, and nothing else.
For the money I paid, I expect them to back up their work, whether that means repairing the damaged concrete, or convincing me that the cracks are nothing to worry about, but they appear to have little interest in that. Based on the lack of follow up after the job, as things stand now I would not recommend doing business with T. Burke's.
Unfortunately it is true that this customer had to wait longer than I would have liked to have his concern addressed. While we made every effort to assure that his driveway would have a sound foundation, in order to prevent a crack from developing, his driveway did develop two small hairline cracks approximately 2-3' in length. In fact, after starting the job, we discovered soft clay that required us to dig down 2-4 feet over most of the driveway, and had to haul in load upon load of base material to create a firm foundation. These cracks radiated from two radiuses on each side of his turn-around even though we cut control joints in to prevent this from occuring. However, off a corner or a radius it is very difficult to ascertain where a crack could occur. I did stop out and evaluate the situation and discussed with the homeowner my desire to fill the cracks. This is where we let the customer down. On several occasions I scheduled my foreman to fill the cracks and for various reasons, including weather, it didn't get done. We finally filled the cracks in November and left the homeowner a note to let him know that it had been taken care of. It does sadden me that the homeowner, who I believe to be a reasonable person, was unhappy with me. I can honestly say that at no time did I not intend to have these two small cracks filled. It also saddens me because, othewise, I felt we went over and above to do a fine job and the drive turned out very well. While this may seem like a "lame excuse" last year was a difficult year for me from a health standpoint. I only learned of this homeowner's posting while recuperating from colon surgery (diverticulitus) in December that dogged me for most of the year and landed me in the hospital in August. I honestly feel that If I had been feeling better last year that this matter would have been handled in a more timely manner. I plan on discussing all this with the homeowner and regret that he is upset with me.

Provided by YP.comTom and team did a great job replacing our driveway. His recommendation to re-mill our old surface, rather than haul it away made a lot of sense, and cost the same as hauling it away. Their workmanship was top-notch, and even finished the job on a weekend, as they tried to avoid the constant rain of this spring.

Provided by YP.comGreat work! We're new to the Ann Arbor area and sprucing up an older home. The guys who showed up to do the work were very pleasant and took their time to do a great job on the brick pavers we had installed going up to our porch and into our backyard. We had a driveway poured as well, but the paver work really is really the showpiece for our landscaping!

Provided by YP.comT. Burke's Asphalt & Concrete Paving recently contracted with ~20 homes in our neighborhood to grind and remove the largest debris from our 20+ year old driveways. The crew then compacted, graded, and installed new asphalt driveways. The work was completed with great attention to detail in a timely manner with a very fair price. Both Tom and his crew were extremely professional and attentive.

Provided by YP.comWe just had our old asphalt driveway done by T. Burke's. Tom Burke came out and gave us a great estimate and actually was able to tear out our old driveway and replace it in one day. The workmen were friendly and very professional. The driveway looks terrific. We would recommend this company without hesitation.

Provided by YP.comOur asphalt driveway was 30 years old, in poor condition with multiple drainage problems. Tom Burke worked through the issues with us and now the drainage is much improved.
Mr. Burke and his employees were pleasant to work with and cheerfully complied with any requests we had regarding the protection of landscaping and cleanup.
I requested some embossing of a brick pattern at the entrance to our property as well as around an area in the front of our home. The patterned area was "painted" with a brick toned color that closely matches the brick on the entry walkway to our front door. It looks so much better than the usual driveway that a friend commented "You could have a party here, it looks so nice!"

Provided by YP.comT. Burke's had done four other asphalt driveways in our neighborhood and all were favorably impressed with their quality and workmanship. T. Burke's just finished our driveway and everything looks top notch. The driveway grading was skillfully done and the paving work crew was very conscientious and completed the paving process in less than six hours. We would recommend T. Burke Paving to even the most particular homeowner.

Provided by YP.comWe called T Burke Asphalt on a Monday morning and we received a call back that afternoon to set up an appointment to come over and look at our driveway. The man showed up 5 minutes late but call 15 minutes early to say he would be running late. The estimate was given at the time of the visit and put in writing the next day when we told them we would go with their bid. They gave us several dates that they could start the project and what to expect from them as is dealt with time and job completion. They were witin one day of their estamationb and the workmanship was excellent.
