Omni gave a $550 estimate for a root canal that they increased to almost $1000 the day my husband had the actual procedure. Claimed we were slandering them when we complained to Better Business Bureau because the estimate said it was an estimate. Sure ��� the $550 was an estimate. An *honest* estimate is close to the real price. We wouldn���t have complained it the $550 increased a bit (say $50) but almost being off by almost $450 is ridiculous. After being in pain for a month, waiting for the appointment, and taking the morning off work, he wasn���t in a position to go looking for a different place to have the root canal done. If Omni had given an honest estimate up front, he would have looked for a more reasonably priced practice.



Omni needs to improve their billing practices. Most importantly, when they miss an estimate by that much they need to either honor the original price or provide enough notice for a person to find an alternate practice.
