Dr. John Q. Binhlam, M.D. is the founder and director of Advanced Skin and Laser Center and Binhlam Aesthetics and has been in practice since 1996. Originally pursuing a career in engineering, he obtained a B.S. in both Computer Science and Mathematics at Vanderbilt University. He decided to change career paths when he realized he had a deep interest in the human body and medical care. Dr. Binhlam obtained his M.D. license from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed Internal Medicine training at Indiana University from 1990 to 1993. During this time, he realized he had a true passion for skin disorders and decided to commit his training to the practice of Dermatology. He obtained his Dermatology training at Vanderbilt University, where he honed his skills in general dermatology and surgery. Dr. Binhlam continually keeps abreast of the latest trends and techniques in skin care and rejuvenation.His areas of expertise and interest in dermatology are wide-ranging, and include general dermatology, skin cancer, Mohs micrographic surgery, allergic contact dermatitis and patch testing, cosmetic laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.
