I don't know much about collecting coins but have (on my own) since I was in elementary school. My coin collection was stolen by a loser boyfriend 20 years ago and I've been slowly adding to my new collection. GSI Exchange sent a lot of valuable information in their silver mercury dime kit. I used to collect coins that I thought were “pretty”. I was well up in my pre-teen years so I wasn’t into trying to understand the market at all. So now, I still know absolutely nothing about it but wanted to find a unique hobby for my grandson that could also prove as a good financial investment for his future.
