Provided by YP.comDO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE. The Dental department is all about pulling teeth an doing unnecessary procedures. My son was told that he could stop at any time. When he tried to stop them they kept saying they were almost done. 30 minutes later, they were done. I have to give at least one star as a minimum believe me I didn't want to give even that.

Provided by YP.comDo not go here for vision! I'm on Tricare, but that is no excuse. At my daughters annual eye exam a comment was made about my insurance, and I let it slide. My kid is very active, and she really has her heart set on contacts. I was promised an hour for her to try contacts. After no more than 20 mins I was pushed towards the door, no contacts in hand. How about that! Sad and heartbroken that she could not get them in we are booking somewhere else. The staff is Curtiss, but the company rules are horrible. Not our fault they were overbooked!

Provided by YP.comWe took our 3 year old for her first eye appointment ever. And we absolutely loved it there! We were greeted very nicely as soon as we walked in and we didn't even finish the paperwork before they called us back! They dilated her eyes and did the standard testing (all the while taking time for her to run around and be a crazy kid). They allowed us to be with her the whole time. We then waited only 5 minutes for the doctor to come in and Dr. Bisbee was amazing! He took his time and we didn't feel rushed. He was also really understanding when our 3 year old didn't really want to have lights and what not in her face. She ended up needing a prescription, and we chose glasses in their office! The ladies that helped us were knowledgeable about the different lenses and what would fit her small face the best. And to top it off, since our insurance only paid for the exam and not the glasses, they gave us a HUGE discount on the glasses, making them way more affordable. I would definitely recommend their vision center. It was clean, the people were friendly, and my daughter absolutely loved it there.

Provided by YPmobileThese people are not trained to work with kids. They are young adults, lowly paid, just out of dental hygienist school. Thy have no patience for children or children issues. If your child is sacred, just leave. They have no skills to make it a good experience. The office feels like they are herding cattle. Get in, get out, FAST. Dentist is beyond rude. I'm looking for a new dentist. Any recommendations for someone good with kids?

Provided by YP.comworst experience ever. My 5 year old was having cavity filled. The first woman who did the laughing gas was okay. But then the dentist and the other woman came in and proceeded to do the numbing shot. He started screaming and crying....They started yelling at him!!! Really!? Please tell me how yelling at my child and telling him he is ridiculous when he is having a natural fearful reaction to you is comforting in the least bit. As I asked the woman to stop yelling at my son, she then cocked a very unprofessional attitude with me . "Then why don't you control him!" "I am only treating him like I would my own".....my one thought: I feel sorry for your young one miss. We will never go back and I will never refer my friends there. There was not one comforting word said to my son after he got upset. I can only hope the didn't ruin his future dental experience. Especially because there is work that is still undone. The dentist didn't say a word...just threw his hands up in the air and walked out. These people SHOULD NOT be working with children.

Provided by YP.comWe've bought glasses from here twice before, but never actually saw a doctor, so I decided to try out the dentist. The front office staff has always been courteous and professional both over the phone and in person. This was my son's first time seeing a dentist. The hygienist was nice and gentle with him, but the dentist hardly said a word to us. He said, "Hello" and nothing else. Only after he was finished and had moved on to the next kid did the hygienist tell me my son had no cavities and they wanted to see him again in 6 months. I guess I expected the dentist to ask if I had any questions or concerns, but it seemed like he was just too busy to be bothered.
From now on I will just stick with buying glasses from them, but nothing else.

Provided by YP.comWe walked out because they were so rude to my 5 year old son. He had already been traumatized from previous dental care. Instead of speaking to my little boy kindly and explaining everything to him, the tech chastised him for not complying fast enough. He had tears in his eyes. In the end she said that he was just too ill behaved, and that they were going to restrain him (He was afraid to open his mouth) She was belittling and threatening a 5 year old for being scared! We walked out and chose a kid friendly dentist.

Provided by YPmobileI took my two daughters today, one is 4 and the other one is 9. My youngest had xrays for the first time ever and of course she was hesitant. After a bit, the hygenist tells her, " you gotta hurry up sweetie, people are waiting". As we walk to the chair, I tell the hygenist quietly, "she's kind of a drama queen". She sits her down and says, "I'm going to call you drama queen or maybe diva".....I just look at her I was shocked. I know it was my fault for using that term but really?!? Then, the dentist comes by, doesn't introduce himself to me. As she is getting checked out, I walk over to my other daughter and I hear the dentist telling my younger one that is kind of whining, "you didn't get your nap today. You need a nap don't you???" REALLY?!? anyway, this visit really left me upset. Now I'm in the process of finding a new dentist.....

Provided by YPmobileThey gave my 20- month-old daughter caps on the back of her teeth without even consulting me first! They brought her out of the room hysterical with blood dripping out the side of her mouth. She was traumatized!
I even consulted attorneys on this matter.
Don't take your kids here!

Provided by YP.comThis place is great with kids, they can see several kids in the same area so parents of say 4 kids like myself can be in the room with all of them at the same time for the exam. They are caring and can easily get children to relax and enjoy the experience. It is normal to protect a child from injury or harm to sometimes ask a parent to sign a wavier. I have one child that can be nervous at times and even with having to hold on to my child so she doesn't wiggle or squirm to much she is very happy to return each time.

Provided by YP.comI was mortified! They asked me to sign a waiver to allow them to either use Nitrous Oxide or physically restrain my child if they felt it was necessary! I can't believe this place is still in business. Please don't take your children to such monsters!

Provided by YP.comDO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THIS DENTIST!!!!
We took our son to see them because they are close to home but when they recomended over a thousand dollars worth of treatment of crowns with possible sedation I got a bad feeling in my stomach and went for a second opinion. Turns out our son only needed four fillings. Seems to us Academy Dental is lacking something and is only interested in something else.
Get a second opinion!

Provided by YP.comThis was my first visit to the N. Academy office, with my 11 year old autistic son, and my 10 year old son, and I was extremely impressed! The office staff were very friendly, helpful, and prompt. The waiting room is very clean and kid oriented for children of all ages. The dental hygienists are very professional, knowledgable and friendly, and were able to ease any anxiety my boys were experiencing about seeing the dentist. The procedure room/rooms are extremely clean and also very kid friendly. Dr. Chris is wonderful, works great kids (including special needs children), and is very thorough in explaining every detail of the exam and future prognoses. All in all, I highly recommend
this dentist and office!

Provided by YP.comI would not even refer my worest enemy here. The Doctor and his Staff are very rude and degrading. They treat the parents as if they are uneducated. The lady that handles appts lied to the Doctor telling him I cussed her out over the phone. Then told him "I don't tolerate that kind of language this is a pediatric facility." He said it as if I was getting yelled at by the parents. Im a grown women! I dont even tolerate people cussing around my daughter so why would I. I simple wanted to change my daughters doctors appt. And I get this. He then proceeded to tell me that I need to take my business else where. Well Doc. I'm Definitely not going there if Im going to be treated like that.
Well duh, they asked you not to come back so you are going to show them by not coming back? You shouldn't have kids...
