I absolutely love Shavon and her and her tattoo parlor. She's very sweet and was really helpful when I was deciding on my tattoo, my first one. She made me feel at home and sat there and joked with my Mama and me, it was amazing. But what would this review be like if I didn't say anything about the tattoo? Well, in three easy words... I LOVE IT!!!!!!! She created the most elegant anchor on my wrist and I love everything about it, especially the little swirls and cherry blossoms. I can't wait to come back and get another beautiful piece of art tattooed on my body by this AMAZING and TALENTED woman♥

Shavon created a masterpiece on my arm. Took the design I would like made it personalized and 100 times better. When you find an artist this good you can’t go anywhere else. Great atmosphere! She takes great pride in her art which turned into an amazing experience.

Where do I start?? Shavon and her staff are professional, helpful, and friendly. I know that I was given a very fair quote, and ended up paying a fair price for exceptional work. The studio is nice because the environment is not scary, loud, or offensive. I absolutely recommend Shavon and her unique and original work.

Shavon's Purple Lotus is phenomenal and I am just loving it. She is such a nice person and so down to earth. She was recommended to me by a co-worker and after seeing the work she had done on him; seems like I couldn't get there fast enough. She covered an old tattoo that I got several years ago. When I tell you she is awesome; BELIEVE IT. She made my tattoo personal and unique and I am loving her for that. Even though I have said a lot already, words cannot describe the experience I had with Shavon at Purple Lotus. I am so looking forward to going back.

If you want a quality tattoo, go to Purple Lotus Body Art in Columbia! Shavon does beautiful work! I felt right at home as soon as I walked in the door. She enhanced and added to a tattoo I already had, and she also tattooed my ring finger. I've gotten many compliments on how neat her work is. Everyone there is friendly and professional; I left feeling pleased with her work.

I had the best experience with Shavon today. Not only did she fit me into her busy schedule to do a quick small piece, but she took the time to fix a previous piece that I had gotten done at another shop....which desperately needed some work. She was professional, friendly, patient, and eased my mind immediately. She is a little pricier than other local shops, but IT IS WORTH IT. You can tell she takes pride in her work and is a true artist. I will never go anywhere else.

Shavon is a very talented lady and I am nothing but satisfied with my experience at the Purple Lotus Tattoo studio. She worked with me from the beginning to make sure that my tattoo design was drawn to my satisfaction before she inked it onto my skin.



She has a wonderful personality, loves to laugh and smile, and has many interesting stories to tell about her travels around the world. Her studio is decorated with many beautiful paintings, sculptures, candles, and other curios. Once you enter the doorway, you feel right at home. She keeps it very clean and the room where she has her tattoo equipment is very tidy and well-lit.



She is very skilled with the needle and her eye for shading and color is unmatched. I am delighted with my tattoo and can't wait to show it to everyone! The first aid afterwards was very well done and I was well-informed about aftercare procedures to do when I got home. She made SURE I knew how to care for my tattoo before I left and wouldn't let me out the door without a hug!

I went to Shavon's to see about getting a tattoo. This was my first one and I had a lot of questions. She was real nice about answering all my questions and even got me in the same day. I don't plan on getting anymore tattoos but if I ever do I would definitely go back to her.

My best friend and I decided in October that we wanted our very first tattoo to celebrate a milestone birthday next year. My friend is local to Columbia; I live in NC. We made an appointment for a consultation with Shavon in November. Shavon went over the details with us, we told her what we wanted, and we set our first appointment for Thanksgiving weekend. Shavon sent us artwork in advance, and we both made slight modifications to our art prior to our first sitting.



On the first sitting in November, Shavon inked the outline for our art. We then made an appointment to come back in December to complete the work.



I just returned yesterday with my completed artwork, and it is quite lovely! I am so happy with Shavon's work! I collect fairies, so, of course, I wanted my own unique fairy on my back. The detail work in my ink is beautiful, and Shavon was very good at capturing the vision I initially described to her. I had a certain color scheme in mind, and she honored my wishes.



I am one of Shavon's "mature" customers, and was very anxious about the whole process. I asked a lot of questions about sterile technique, aftercare, etc., and she knew her stuff. Her shop is nothing like what I envisioned a tattoo parlor is supposed to look like. I walked in and felt very comfortable from the get go.



I encourage everyone considering a tattoo to do your research. I certainly did, and I am walking away as a satisfied customer, and I know I made the right choice.



I guess the best compliment I can pay Shavon is that my friend and I have decided we want to come back for another, which I hope to complete next summer. I think she's a very talented artist, and for me, it was a very positive experience.

I went to Shavon for my first tattoo, and it was the right move! The amount of detail she put into it was amazing! Her husband and coworker made me feel right at home. Not only is she an amazing artist, she’s good people to!

I went to Shavon tagging along with a friend who was getting a tattoo. It was my first tattoo, and a white tattoo on my ribs at that. Shavon was awesome and totally willing to work with me 100% and it came out amazing! She talks to you the whole time and it feels like you're going to a massage parlor more than getting a tattoo! I definitely plan on going back.

Shavon is amazing. I was very paranoid seeing as this was my first tattoo and didn't want to make a mistake with such a permanent decision. Shavon was patient enough with me to draw designs until I was completely satisfied. She did an amazing job and was very detailed with her work, she made my vision of my tattoo come to life, with fantastic improvements! She also has a fun personality to be around for hours at a time. I am not sure anybody in my home town can beat her, so I will have to stop in next time I am in town for my next piece of art! Thanks a lot Shavon, I LOVE my butterfly.
