Jay Rechtweg, M.D. received his medical degree with clinical honors from the New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y. Dr. Rechtweg completed both his surgical internship and residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery from the State University at Buffalo Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He then went on to complete a Rhinological fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center, in Chicago, Illinois where he also acted as a clinical instructor. Dr. Rechtweg has practiced as an otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat Physician) for over 10 years. He is a resident of Long Island and has been practicing in the Long Island area for over 5 years.Dr. Rechtweg is board certified in Otolaryngology. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the New York State Medical Society. Locally, he is a member of the Nassau County Medical Society, and the Long Island Society of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Rechtweg was thorough and professional.

Dr. Rechtweg was instrumental in my diagnosis in October of 2021 for a cranial CSF leak. He referred me to a top surgeon at Mt. Sinai I’m Manhattan who did my brain surgery. I am continuing to see Dr. Rechtweg for follow up care and other ENT concerns. I am very confident in his diagnostic abilities and he has excellent bed side manner.
