Mr. Gordon and Mary appraised and set my center stone for my 5 year anniversary and it was the best outcome imaginable. They were so professional, courteous, kind, and extremely knowledgable. They are the BEST!

I could not have been more pleased with how my appraisal with Mr. Gordon went. Very professional, extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. A very welcoming atmosphere. Everyone in the small office was so kind and accommodating. We arrived early and they were able to see us no questions asked. There are Saturday hours which made it so convenient for us. They were remodeling when we went but were able to address our needs and answer all questions we had. My fiancé and I went there with the newely given ring and needed an appraisal for insurance. There was no wait listing on appointments, which is important for seller's limited return policies and also insurance in case of accidents. Highly recommend!

The office is a small, intimate setting and you can tell the team has worked together for a while, they are like a little family. Ben is an energetic and charming former New Yorker who displays an easy, playful passion for his work and it is clear he is an expert, once you sit down with him. I brought in my bridal set to be re-appraised and without seeing the previous appraisal he was right on target with his appraisal, from the quality and materials to the time-frame and locations the pieces were created (one part was an antique and the other more modern -he called them down to the year just by looking at them). I loved that I could sit with him and he explained the process, showed me how he compared color and determined clarity, gave me information about the markings and how he determines when and where they are made, what stones were machine vs hand cut, and how to best care for and handle the pieces. I also brought in several items I inherited from grand- and great-grand mothers that I wanted more information about. He offered a consultation and was able to tell me what each item was (what stones, synthetic vs. authentic, etc) as well as approximate value of each. The appraisal documents were thorough and professional and they sent me off with a little cleaning kit and promotional items, as well as labeled baggies for all the items they counseled me on. It was a very pleasant and informative experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Today I took my old and new bridal sets and my daughter's new engagement ring to Ben Gordon for appraisal for insurance purposes. He and his apprentice, Carol, were very professional and delightful. They both explained each step of the process of the appraisal and when I left I was not only presented with professional documents with color pictures... I left with knowledge about the jewelry that I had appraised. I foundd the entire process to be facinating. Mr. Gordon is charming and very knowledgable in his trade. I also felt he charged a very fair price for his work. I would high recommend him. As far as I am concerned he has me as a customer for life.

Ben is the best. I went in with a bunch of estate stuff (basically didn't know what I had) and Ben went through all of it and efficiently separated the things with value from the trash. He treated every piece like it belonged with the crown jewels. The customer service is over the top. Would definitely go back in the future.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Ben, Mrs. Gordon, and Kristi! My fiance' and I had her engagement ring appraised, and the entire process was very enjoyable and informative. After cleaning and inspecting the diamond and its setting, Ben and Kristi each gave their appraisals. After which, they then compared those to the AGS certification (which they did not look at beforehand) for the diamond. Their assessments matched or very nearly matched everything from AGS. Having a third party with obvious expertise and experience appraise our ring, gave us both the peace of mind to feel comfortable with the purchase. I would recommend Ben to anyone and will be using him for any future appraisal needs!

So I don't know a lot about diamonds, and I went out and bought a ring for my girlfriend. I bring it home and my parents ask me for the paper work and all they gave me was a bill of sale. I didn't know diamonds needed to come with paper work.



So I call up the jeweler and he explains how there are certified and uncertified diamonds, and tells me that if I wanted paper work to go to an independent appraiser. So after seeing the many "5 star reviews" Ben Gordon of the jewelery judge, I became very excited to meet with him.



After signing in with his wife, they took me into their lab and there I met Ben and another gemologist Christy, and they were very professional and friendly. (When i first called Ben he answered the phone with so much charisma (sp?)) He was very friendly and very informative. I knew already that I wasn't coming in there with the absolute best diamond in the world. But he and his team treated it as if it were the "Hope diamond". They steam cleaned it and everything!



I not only came out there with a certificate and an appraisal, I left with more knowledge about diamonds that will help me with future purchase. I couldn't be more happier with my experience with Mr. Gordon and his team. Thank you

After reading reviews for Ben &his staff, I decided to have a couple of rings appraised for insurance. Making an appointment online was so easy and a reminder was sent to me via email. I was greeted by Kristi upon arriving and after finishing a bit of paperwork, I was taken into their office to begin the appraisals. Ben and Kristi were very informative and professional. I learned so much in this process and look forward to using them again in the future. I can highly recommend their services to friends and family here in Houston!

After getting engaged I sought to get my engagement ring appraised for insurance purposes and wanted to go to an independent jeweler. I found Ben Gordon on my Google search. I truly enjoyed my visit with Ben Gordon and Kristi. They were ultra-professional and down to earth at the same time. Both display an obvious expertise in Gemology. Thus, they made me and my fiancé feel at ease right away. Without seeing my GIA report Mr. Gordon's assessment was almost exactly the same! We were very pleased with the appraisal and the best part is that it is done right there in front of you. You don't have to leave your ring (which I was afraid of doing with all of the scams these days). Lastly, you get your report and pictures to take with you the same day. Of course, there is a fee but it was well worth it.

In an era when everyone writes to talk about what went wrong, I wanted to write and talk about everything that went right. I must commend you and your entire staff for the positive experience I had with your company. Being unfamiliar with jewelry values made my position as Conservator and Administrator of Estates a confusing and often difficult one.



I came to your office as a complete novice and you took the time to show me the process you undertake to appraise jewelry. You patiently answered my questions without making me feel that I was wasting your time. You made me completely comfortable leaving my jewelry in your possession while you completed the process. The final report that you provided gave me detailed information for both insurance and estate purposes. The pictures that the report included insures that I can identify and account for all jewelry under my control. Once I emailed the seller back telling him that it was not as he described (SI1, H/I color)-- He reneged on his return agreement ......
