Had such a great experience! Purchased a deal throughout Groupon for a 2.5 hour whale watching cruise. It ended up being 3 hours, which was great. The boat looked brand new. The staff was very nice and educational. They went pretty far out, we got to see lots of dolphins, sea lions, 4 humpback whale and 1 blue whale! Was a major win! Highly recommended!

I was given the opportunity to try harbor breeze again and I loved it this time around! We had a marine biologist from the aquarium of the pacific as our guide, he was very informative and even came around to ask if we had questions. We saw one whale and maybe over 100 dolphins, my favorite animal! It was absolutely amazing and exciting to see them swim around the boat. There were multiple groups of dolphins jumping and playing, I can't even explain how wonderful it was to see so many!

Just got back from the cruise and I have to admit...my husband and I were a bit skeptical about taking the 3:00pm cruise BUT we are so glad we did! As soon as we departed we saw some bottlenose dolphins. Once we were in the open waters we saw tons of pacific white sided dolphins. About an hour into the cruise we saw them...a pod of 5 gray whales and it was magical! We stayed with them for about 30mins and they did not disappoint. Thank you Capt. Kevin, for the experience.

There is a little snack bar inside with a few options for sodas, beer & snacks and the pricing is pretty reasonable. Parking can be a pain down by the aquarium, so I definitely suggest avoiding the parking structure right next to the aquarium and opt for the one on the other side of the street next to Hooters. There's no wait and it's way easier to get in/out. If you grab a snack/drink in the shopping center area afterwards they'll validate your parking and it'll cost about $3.

I came here with friends and we had a great time. The weather was perfect and we saw three whales together, which was awesome. They did a great job on spotting them and telling everyone where to look and talked about the whales and their migration south. It was very interesting and we all enjoyed it. We also saw a bunch of dolphins and they circled the boat around, so they would play in the waves. We got great video of it.

I took the blue whale watching tour couple days ago and it was just magical.

You know there is a risk you are not going to see any whales but fortunately for us we saw couple of them and it was just very impressive.

I did grey whale watching before and it was already great but this one was even better. It is so majestic.

Went here several weeks ago for the 3:30 pm cruise. After I purchased four tickets for the whale watching cruise, I didn't bother getting in line at the gate thinking the long line that started forming at 3 pm was for the 45 minute harbor cruise. Actually it was the line for both cruises combined in one. No big deal, so I was at the tail end of the line but we still got good seats on the side of the boat. Once the cruise gets under way, it doesn't really matter where you are on the boat, everybody is moving around and it seems the place to be is towards the front. This is because if a whale is spotted, the captain points the front of the boat in the whale's direction. Time goes by fairly quick and standing for hours on end doesn't really effect you that much. The hot dogs in the galley were only a couple of bucks and they even had beer. Just ask the lady vacationing from Texas who was binge drinking assorted beers and eventually took a spill on deck. Our cruise we were able to see several schools of dolphins and a couple of whale pods. So it did turn out to be a productive cruise for us. On the return trip to dock 2, the captain puts the boat into high gear so you do get buffered about by waves and strong winds. As your leaving the dock, Bubba Gump's restaurant is actually across the street next to the parking structure, so we enjoyed a nice seafood dinner there afterwards.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Grey whales (and calf), dolphins and sea lions all in one afternoon onboard a beautiful boat with a crew that was friendly and informative. Highly recommend this for all ages.

It's been almost 3 weeks since the "ashes ceremony" on the boat provided by your company. The entire crew were so wonderful to my family. Very professional and efficient. I give your company, vessel, and staff the highest recommendation.

This review is solely for their 45 minute Harbor Cruise. You would think that the small stand next to the Marina selling tickets would be a total tourist trap but think again. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised by the whole process.

It is a relative bargain and to get out on a decent size boat for 45 minutes on a hot summer Sunday is a great mini adventure.

The youngish staff selling and taking tickets was very organized and very polite and there was not up selling to the longer trips. The Harbor cruise is a quick was to get out on the ocean and tool around while the very friendly and informative captain narrates. He didn't mail it in either. His commentary was a thoughtful mix of the routine mixed in with some pertinent dialog for what was happening that day. This is not a whale watching excessive so be mindful it is simply a fun, quick and affordable way to get out on the ocean for a bit.. There are some great views of the Pike, the lighthouse, shoreline village, the Queen Mary, the spy sub, the cruise ship, the oil islands, and the sea lions. Just enough to keep you mildly entertained for the 45 minutes. I mentioned our captain already but I would be remiss not to mention how patient he was loading up the boat before we left with some very "needy and loud" adults. He was smooth and made sure it didn't effect the full capacity group already on board.

As part of our honeymoon, we visited LA and Long Beach. This appeared the best whale watching experience in the Greater LA area, online at least. Whilst comparisons are hard as neither of us had done one before, it was an amazing, humbling and wonderful time. We were lucky to see a Blue Whale, hundreds of Dolphins and a couple of Hump Back Whales. The 3 hour trip was fantastic. With an expert on board from the Aquarium of the Pacific, it was also educational. Visited October 2014

I had an amazing experience on this boat. The 3 hour whale watching experience was amazing. Ive always wanted to do it and never had the chance to do it and finally we went on their 3:30 cruise. Loved Seeing a blue whale and grey whale, dolphins, sea lions and beautiful scenery.

The way the boat moved through the waves felt like a roller coaster.

This was a very nice attraction to spend some time doing. I'm not sure exactly how many different whales we saw, but there were like 15-20 appearances above the water. They would blow some water and surface then back down. We saw two whale tails come out and go back down. Pretty cool experience. The boat was very nice, clean bathrooms, nice food and drink area, plenty of room even with a full boat. Skipper was very good at spotting and keeping us all informed of what was going on. Very knowledgeable crew. A bit expensive, but I would do it again. We didn't see any dolphins on our trip.
