Great service, Great price, Quick, Honest, ETC, ETC. Can't say enough.

Smiley is the man!!! Brought my boat into simley for the first time two weeks ago, originaly i was told by another boat mechanic that i needed to replace my control box, so i purchased a new control box online for $200 and was looking at about another $125 for install, Thankfully i found Smiley's Boat Repair online and after reading all of his great reviews i decided to give him a try. After about 10min of dave looking over the boat he knew right away that i didn't even need a new control box!!! just a simple cable adjustment! I was out on the lake 2hours later fishing!!!!!! Thanks Dave you have a customer for life!!!!!

Brought my boat in for service needed new impeller while it was there i had dave install a cmc tilt/trim i couldn't believe the excellent job dave did with the install.. dave is an honest guy does great work with quick turn around with excellent pricing.From now on Dave at Smiley boat repair will be the only one working on my boats.

We met this guy out on the lake when our boat overheated and he was nice enough to give us a tow in. We have had our boat in to Smiley's Boat Repair several times since, although never for a repeat issue. He is more than professional, he treats us like friends/ family. Repair jobs come out to be half the cost of other quotes we've gotten, and he has been very generous with his advice and recommendations. Bottom line: I wouldn't let any other boat mechanic in Arizona touch my boat. Would recommend him to anyone who cares about their boat and is on a budget.

I used Smileys because of his reviews and I had a couple of bad experiences with others out in the valley. His service was great, very corteous, patient, friendly and affordable. My boat runs great and I am back at the lake! Will use for all my boat needs form this point on. A++++.

Dave did a great job on my merc engine and even repaired the upholstery. Everything was professionally done and he saved me a lot of $.

I bought a 84 Sea Ray from a guys back yard as my project boat... Took it straight to Smileys for service... Dave went through the entire boat and fixed everything on this boat. He called me every day to discuss what he had found and what he recommended to do to repair on a budget. This boat runs excellent and has no mechanical issues at all.. Dave did a great job with a major repair to my boat. Not only was his price fair, but he provided a level of service that is hard to find this day and age. He showed great patience in answering all of my questions, always made himself available to my calls, and seemed to treat my boat as if it were his own. I called Dave Smiley because of the reviews in Dex Knows. I have had bad experiences in the past with repair shops over-charging, not fixing it right the first time, never knowing whether or not all the work they did was necessary, etc. Well let me tell you, Dave Smiley is none of that. He is the most knowledgeable boat-guy I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He is honest, takes his time explaining what might be wrong and then what is wrong when he finds out for sure, and explains what action(s) will be necessary to fix the problem. He kept me informed throughout the process with frequent calls. He saved me money by actually fixing malfunctioning parts instead of just throwing them away any using new ones (what a novel concept). When I picked up the boat, he showed me everything he had done, showed me the bad parts which couldn't be repaired, and had me run the boat to make sure everything was as it should be. Dave Smiley knows his way around boats! Cold call, first time I used him (picked him based on reviews in DEX!).He quickly diagnosed and fixed problems with my carburator and fuel pump (1990 V6 Chevy engine). Also found and fixed some problems in the 'out drive' trim and cooling system (Mercruiser Alpha One). Boat actually runs better than when I first got it! Smiley's estimates and charges were accurate and quite fair. There were no hidden charges or surprises. Dave will show you all of the bad parts that he pulls, replaces, or rebuilds. All work was done within several days of bringing the boat in and Dave is also quite willing to help you over the phone. Dave is my "boat guy" going forward.

Bought a used Tahiti with an old Merc 150 outboard took it to a shop in east Mesa and was told the motor was junk and would have to be replaced. Took it to Smiley's and had a diagnostic done, good compression a 1/2 hour of adjustments and we went to the lake drove it off and gave rides and drove it back on to the trailer. Great job Smiley, I don't know what the other shop look at but it wasn't my motor.

my name is mike i came al the way from maricopa az, i couldnt get , into reverse, turns out that problem was bigger than that. lower gears were run down, the clutch, shift cable, and spool, u name it, it was bad. Smiley got down to the problem showed me what was wrong, took out the old girl to the lake she ran like she had a new skirt on. Want to strongly recommend Smiley for his work he has completed on my Triton TR20 with 225Mercury Optimax. Smiley is very competitive on costs (beat everyone that i called) and service (actually came to my house). Smiley is the man!!!! He had my 1999 mariah lower unit outdrive problem fixed real quik and at a VERY VERY low rate. This is not the first time i get my boat serviced at smiley's he so fast and reliable. I recommend any boater to call smiley's for all there boat needs. Thank you smiley!

Smiley did an excellent job on multiple repairs, services and overall costs for my 2004 TR20 with Mercury 225 Optimax. Work includes full replacement of lower unit, lower unit oil and impeller changes, steering fluid leak repairs, tune-ups, replaced gasket on cylendar head repair among other things.
