Provided by YP.comFinancing was a breeze, since we already secured our own financing, it was just a matter of signing in a few spots. Our finance rep, Isabella, was a hoot and yes, very professional. She was very helpful with the paperwork and kept us entertained. (The Mexican restaurant you recommended was spot on). The level of customer service was very good based on the amount of traffic that was in the dealership that day.

Provided by YP.comI purchased a vehicle from Florida Cars USA on 12/20/10. I found the vehicle listed on eBay and called to inquire about it. I asked specific questions about the condition of the vehicle regarding the heating system. I was reassured that since Florida had just gone through a cold spell the heater was tested and was in great working order. I asked specifically if anything was wrong with the vehicle and was told it had gone through a rigorous inspection and was in great shape, nothing was wrong with it. As I was not in Florida, I made it clear I was relying on them to represent the car honestly. If there were problems, I did not want to buy the vehicle. I then made a fair offer, slightly less than the advertised price, and the seller accepted. I arranged and paid for shipping through the seller. I received the vehicle on 01/20/11.
Upon receipt of the vehicle, I took it for a drive and immediately checked the heater and looked for other problems. The heater did not function (no warm air at all) the heated seats did not work at all, and there was a blinking display that a tire pressure monitor was missing or bad.
I immediately called the dealership to inform them of the problems, at which time I was told the representative was too busy to talk with me and would call me back. I never received a return call, so I placed a call the following day and was informed the "partner would have to be involved and I would be called back. I did not receive a return call, so I placed a call the following day and could only speak with a secretary who told me nothing could be done until Monday. I called twice on Monday (Yesterday) before I got an answer from someone who could make a decision. I was told they would do nothing for me because I signed an as is term of agreement. I explained that the as is term of agreement was for a vehicle that was represented as having no problems with the heater, no problems with the advertised "seat heaters" no missing or bad tire pressure monitors, etcetera. Again, the representative stated he would do nothing as far as a reimbursement for my out of pocket cost to fix the problems.
Previous to my final conversation, I took the vehicle to the local dealership, and requested a full inspection. I was presented with a list of problems that needed attention. As I had full intent of keeping the vehicle, I proceeded with the repairs and paid for them out of pocket. We were having -8 degree weather in Illinois, and I could not safely drive the vehicle without a heater.
Even though the website states that "All vehicles are pre-inspected, fully detailed, maintained and serviced before we present them on sale. You can bid with confidence that what we advertise is exactly what we deliver." I fully understand that used vehicles need some typical repairs even when purchased from a reliable source. Therefore I am happy to pay for the bad hood shocks, the bad hatch props, the bad front shock, the missing seat knob, the tune-up (all fluids were black and past there required change), the new tires, the injector cleaning, the removal of carbon buildup in the throttle body, the transmission flush and service. However, I don’t feel I am responsible for the cost to repair the heater, the seat heaters, or the bad tire sensors. Because the heater and the heated seats were represented as being in good working order, and the tire sensors should have been and obviously required repair as there was a large blinking display stating they were bad or missing; I feel the seller is responsible for the repair of these items.
I Steven Garate would like to take this opportunity to clear the air on Mr. Joshua Martriage's concerns. On 12-20-10 Mr. Marriage saw a beautiful 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee on one of our internet listings. Since Mr. Marriage was one of our out of state buyers, and we immediately offer a 3rd party pre-purchase inspection to avoid any misrepresentations of any kind. Mr.Joshua Marriage declined and continued to purchase his Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since this Jeep was out of its factory warranty terms, we always offer each and every one of our customers the direct extension of the manufacturers warranty so that the customer can have total piece of mind, just in case of any unforeseen repairs in the future. Mr. Marriage declined to obtain this fantastic coverage and negotiated the sale price and purchased the vehicle completely AS-IS. Unfortunately here in Florida we live in typical 85-90 degree weather and do not check our vehicles for heater functions as we do the all-important airconditioning systems. We do respect the fact that Mr. Marriage conducted business with our company and are saddened by this unfortunate chain of events, but folks if and when you are purchasing a pre-owned vehicle, please keep in mind we can't disassemble a vehicle completely to predict any future repairs!! That's why we always encourage the purchase of our extended warranties to cover any mishaps that may come about in the future. Sincerely Steven Garate General Manager Florida Cars USA
