Fraudulent Damage Claim Enterprise Car Rental

Nov. 12, 2014 When I stopped in the location on 16th Street, Cedar Rapids, IA the attendant told me he had nothing available that I could drop off in another state and gave me a card to call the airport location. I walked back to the CRST terminal training center in 21 degree weather and called, acidently getting the hotline not the direct line. She set me up with. a car. The man from the 16th St. location called me back and I quote with an agitated voice said " I told you I didn't have a car and to call the air port location and press five to talk to them directly." I called the air port location. She told me they did have a car. I replied that I was getting frustrated and they could be more help. She hung up on me ( did not use any fowl language). I called the Dodge Street location. The gentleman found a car for me, had me picked up in an hour as promised and in the car within 15 min of arriving.

Dec 12, 2014, I received a call at 8:00 eastern, I'm a commercial driver so it was just after 5:00am in AZ., claiming that there was damage to the hood, roof and trunk of the car. I don't even know how that kind of damage could be done. The car was fine when we dropped it off at 4:00am. When we said we will have our lawyer contact them, the woman said it was fine, I filed a waiver and she will close out the claim. I am still looking into this fraudulent claim.

The location in Englewood, FL is terrible! Not only is the service horrible, but the manager is extremely rude! I arrived at 7:50am and despite the manager sitting at her desk, in plain sight, she made me stand outside until 8am before she would unlock the door. Ugh! Terrible customer service!!

best service ever

These guys and ladies and a few more not named make my rental experience very easy and comfortable. Tony Hallo, Trish O'Bryan and Adam nunley treat me like I'm the only person in the world that matters when I show up to rent a car. I've been to a few rental places before and its always a hassle or I'm treated like I was gonna steal it or something. But in Danville ky those guys know my name always ask how I've been and are just honestly caring. I'll only ever use them and suggest them when in need of a car. Thank you all and I'll see you soon!

Alton, IL Enterprise is the worst place you could possibly go to to rent a car. My aunt and I are taking a trip to Oklahoma and need a rental car to get there. Well we reserved on and gave them our debit card to use and they took it with no problem. Well the morning we went to get the car they rejected the card when they needed the full payment so we planned on paying it all off the morning of the trip but like i said they rejected it. Weird right? They took it before? They were very snobby and rude. Then they asked for all this other stuff for proof of address, like from bills so we brought some in but they said they couldn't use it because they didn't like they way the payment was handled. Whats that have to do with proof of address? This place shouldn't even get one star, none sounds better. Or wait check that how about negative million stars.

Be sure to get clarification on their deposit refund. I have never encountered anything quite like it. Employees were nice and vehicle had no problems.

Service was really slow, which was understandable, it was a Friday afternoon. What prompted me to give such a low review was the service. The worker was rude and, frankly, pretty snobby. I don't think she once smiled or appreciably greeted me. My truck had been in the body shop for over two months, and the entire time I had a rental car from Enterprise. They received more than $2000 for the lengthy rental, and there was not once a modicum of any sort of care, concern, or appreciation from the staff worker. I will never give the Visalia Enterprise my business again.

Just finished a 2 week rental with the Oakland office. The guys were outstanding. They even called me half way through the rental to make sure everything was ok.

I travel quite a bit, and they are extremely professional and caring.

I always rented form National, so I got used to GREAT service, but Enterprise was worse than any rental experience I ever had and I've been renting cars since 1966.

They said my credit card was declined, But I went down the Street to Wells Fargo and got a money order (as the clerk suggested) for the amount with the same credit card. I returned to the agency, and the clerk informed me I could not pay the retainer with the money order, I needed a credit card.

I moved down the aisle to Budget and they had no trouble accessing my credit card.

Won't stop at Enterprise again. Wish I had read the reviews first.

Conway, Arkansas location isn't much better.

I came in here from an auto accident and they were extremely particular about every piece of information needed. The front desk attendant(Eric) was very impersonal and after having some issues with not taking my identification he checked with his supervisor to whether it was an acceptable form of identification. After being declined I asked him if another form of identification would be acceptable and he informed me with his supervisor 10 feet away that she would say the same thing after politely being asked to check with her. I had to press him nicely to ask her.

The supervisor was congenial enough to explain to me the situation after she made the initial effort.

Hours later I came back with the required information and the supervisor looked to be out for the day. I had troubles finding my credit card and tried to use a relatives(that had been in there hours before). The same front desk attendant looked at my credit card and started smirking and explained to me that he wouldn't take anything with my name. I returned with a credit card with my name on it and slid it on the counter. The front attendant smirked to his coworker next to him.

Minutes later after filing out the paperwork as I was in the mood to just do the inspection and drive off he confronted me in a very close manner asking me if "He had upset or insulted me?" At this point I felt like he was baiting me and told him to do the inspection, give me his name and the corporate number, and hand me the keys. He promptly brought the subject up several more times without a supervisor present and I directed him to finishing the walk around.

Upon inspection, at first he failed to note key scratches with writing on the fuel door until my mother came(the same person who'd came in with me prior) and did an inspection herself and mentioned it to him. Promptly after he passed it.

I was then given the keys and he explained to me he was hired for "Customer Satisfaction". Explain to me what a young kid not looking a day over 20 understands about customer service. I'm a much older person that did not appreciate the work ethic of someone who had been working there "3 months". What a joke. I have been here several times before and had good experiences. But this time was a joke.. It must be nice to give impersonal service and read a script all day long. I will speak to the supervisor in charge of this shortly and send a letter to the corporate office.

I tried to rent a car and without a major credit card they will not loan me a car. I ask why they need a major credit card and the man says they run a 200 dollar authorization fee for security for them. He said the card will not be charged. I understand it to be along the lines of a refundable down payment so they know I will be responsible with their car. I am a responsible young man and don't like to run up debt on my credit card. I have a credit builder account which means I have a 300 dollar max that I am not going to abuse. Trying to figure out how this could be resolved I OFFERED CASH for this refundable down payment so that they had something for security for them. THE MAN WOULD NOT TAKE IT OR RENT ME A CAR WITHOUT A MAJOR CREDIT CARD???? I am sorry, but if you do business in the USA and require plastic and will not accept cash, there is a problem. To be fair they will accept cash for the rental payment. If my insurance would cover any issues with the vehicle, I offer cash for what is necessary to rent the vehicle, I have a licence and good driving record, they would have 200 dollars refundable deposit so they know I will return the car when agreed upon, and they will not rent me a car. I will walk to work and to my personal small business today and they get 0 stars. Okay, they get 1 star for 0 stars in not a rating option. This is a real joke and now I see the reason for the bolt loads of other bad ratings. As a business owner I work to help my clients and if they need to pay in cash, I know it is smart to accept anything I can get. Enterprise just threw a paying customer with a good driving record out the door before I even walked into the door. In the long run businesses that operate in such a manner will fail....

Enterprise lost a whole family of customers this week. Last week my mother passed away and I had to travel to her funeral. We are on limited funds so I called around for the best price.

Having dealt with Enterprise for years I decided to go with them. I asked for all the fees up front including insurance and asked for the basic insurance. When we got there last Thursday to pick it up I was shocked at the additional $200 deposit. I made sure to tell them to add the insurance and prepay fuel at 3.03 a gallon as stated on their sign. I was told we would be getting the $200 deposit back which I needed to repay to the person I borrowed it from.

Then today I was only credited a $74 refund. I called the local Enterprise and was told they would call me back. Hours later I had to call them again and was told they took insurance at over $50 (was informed it was by day and not flat rate like originally told) out of the deposit and fuel that added up to be more than the 10 gallon fuel tank on a Fiat would take. My husband wasn't happy with this so we went to the local store. This is when the manager said and I quote, "It's like we discussed we took the insurance and fuel out of the deposit to help you out. We don't normally do that and everything is paid up front."

This is a problem because I never asked for any help. I never discussed anything with this man nor talked to him on the day of rental. He was to busy talking to the higher priced customer that came in after us. We wanted everything listed and paid for up front. That's Enterprise's quote, No hidden fees, well that quote is a lie. I'm very upset.

I would like to take the time out to say that the service at the Freeport, NY location is the WORST customer service I have EVER encountered . They are a group of lying, manipulative, money hungry employees who will say anything to customers to get them into their store and to get their money. I spent the better half of an afternoon calling local car rental dealerships so that I could rent a two door sports car for the week. All of them told me that they didn't have such a car until I contacted the freeport location. The man on the phone was initially friendly and told me that they had what I wanted, and indeed had a challenger on the lot for me to rent. I sent my client to go pick up the car. Mind you, the man is going out of his way to do this and is pressed for time but made the effort to go. Come to find out the employee LIED. There was NO CHALLANGER let alone any two doors on the lot. Now I was stuck with no transportation, being that it was 6 o'clock already and all dealerships tend to close around that time and EXTREMELY AGITATED. Of course those lying money hungry people tried to get me another car and tried to brush me off like I was the one lying. As if no one told me anything in the first place. They were very dismissive and did not care about the fact that I was clearly upset about the situation. I would not recommend this place to any decent person I know.

Very poor service because apparently a confirmed reservation doesn't mean actually getting a car. Go figure. Child of a counter person couldn't have cared less that some of us really need to go to work, and we make the silly assumption that a confirmed reservation means GETTING A VEHICLE AS PROMISED! They are a poor example of what we expect, and almost always receive, in our town from our local merchants in cullman alabama. They are an embarrassment to our community and their company. We're there a way to leave a rating of less than zero, I would. But let me tell you how I really feel . . .

Do NOT rent a car from Enterprise unless you want a car that STINKS of cigarettes. They supposedly have a cleaning fee if people smoke in their cars but they clearly don't enforce it. We've been stuck with an Enterprise car three times because it was an insurance-provided rental and each time the care STANK to high heaven. The spray something in them so it's not too too bad for the first few hours but by the next day it STINKS.

Kansas City. This is my first and LAST time working with enterprise. They provided my with a rental car because I was in an accident so I had to leave my car at the shop. They provided me with a white nissan altima and the car was FILTHY. There were dead bugs all over the front windshield, you could not see out the window. the inside was completely dusty and filthy and the mirrors and windows were filthy as well. When I called them and asked them if they normally give out filthy cars they said no they always have them cleaned and the cars are reviewed before the go out. obviously this one was skipped

VISALIA, CA location is very good. You aren't guaranteed the size you want with your reservation unless you go in person and reserve it with your credit card. They must have the credit card in their hands. Otherwise, you will get what ever is available which in my case was an SUV which cost more!

I don't know where some of these ratty reviews are coming from, maybe they're planted by the competition. For us, Enterprise has been great: first time, every time, in every way. This isn't a planted review either, you can find me as a real person by checking the record of 'ornithikos' as a Wikipedia editor.

COURTLANDT MANOR, NY

The employees at Enterprise were very nice and friendly, right up until the bill came. I had rented a car from them after an accident. I had the car for 16 days, but they charged me for 17.

I had dropped off the car on the 16th day, after I got out of work, and put the key in the drop box. When I see the bill, they tell me the reason for the 17th day charge was due to the fact that I dropped off the car after store hours, even though the car was there before they opened on the 17th day.

When I spoke with the manager, she added on multiple fees, plus the extra day. They tell you information about not having to pay any of these fees, such as, accident insurance, damage wavier, liability protection, and roadside assistance; the only thing that I will charged for is the daily usage- of $37.50/ day. When going over the contract with you, they say you will not be charged such things. However, read the fine print. After many headaches and phone-tags, I was able to dispute the charges.

This company tricks you and I highly recommend you read the fine print. It wasn't until after I had signed the contract I noticed she added extra fees and crossed out the original, of what was there when I signed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!

Narragansett, RI location of Enterprise is wonderful. We had to rent an SUV after my husbands pickup truck was totaled in an accident. Friendly professional service we were in an out with a nice little SUV in about 20 minutes. Rep.did a total "walk around" with us and we had no problems at all with extra charges appearing on our credit card. It's too bad all of their locations aren't as good - was wincing reading all the bad reviews in other states.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!! They caused my husband to miss a job interview and I missed a doctor's appointment because they picked up so late, and then they screwed up the reservation so we couldn't get a car!! The counter "girl" (sorry she was not an adult - acted like a brat) was flippant and rude. We will NEVER USE THEIR SERVICE!! HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS AND PEOPLE GET FIRED. Obviously they know they won't and don't care. You would think with the economy in the state it is in they would hire competent people and fire the losers.
