Provided by YP.comLate arrival--about a month after promised. Bait and switch on pricing (added additional charges after specifying door to door service) and 2/3 of shipment of antiques arrived broken. Of that, half the furniture was smithereens and a write-off (insurance should pay eventually after a long exchange of docs, photos, data, valuations, expert opinions, etc but no rebate for cost of useless shipment) and the rest reparable, but never again with pre shipment value of 300+ year old original intact Chinese cabinets without repairs. We also shipped some papers in cardboard file boxes which arrived broken and in disarray and some antique silver cutlery which arrived dented. The damage suggests the pallet was dropped from a considerable height, but in any case the packing was inadequate for overseas shipping. What kind of idiot packs a heavy cabinet with stick legs standing up on a plywood pallet with spaces between the boards? Not sure this company should be trusted with any kind of shipment .

Provided by YP.comBefore you Contract, know the Contacts!
A successful move is only as good as all parts of the subcontractors coming together, and the coordination of the lead company you sign the contract with (in this case Express Cargo, USA - [EC, USA]). My move, although successful in that everything got here in a timely manner and with relatively few headaches, has not been completed as there is still an outstanding insurance issue. Yes, there were problems with the incompetency of the company in the US that EC, USA used (although to the credit of my sales rep were worked out to a satisfactory degree); promptly rectified by the excellent service offered by the receiving subcontractor. HOWEVER, I now find myself with an insurance issue and no 1 person responsible at Express Cargo. And this is where the customers service and contact PEOPLE are important. Before you contract: know the contacts - not just the sales person who gets your business, but get and actual contact name and phone number for the person who handles the billing (this is the person that will hold up your delivery at the dock, incurring storage charges, as your billing issue is settled), get the name and phone number of the person who handles insurance issues for the company (not the insurer, but this person will most likely be the billing person too). It's important to have that person's info in the event that something happens. If the company is not willing to help you while they are trying to get your business, chances are that once they have the money in pocket, you will not very likely get the service you deserve.
This is not my first long haul move. Not the Best, but not the worst as far as delivery goes...however, when it comes to post move customer service, I am less then pleased with what I'm finding.

Provided by YP.comI have had the most awful experience with Express Cargo. I just moved from the US to London and chose Express because my contact rep. was very helpful and communicative. I was told my stuff would take 6-8 weeks. I am now well over the 8 week mark and not only haven't I received my shipment, it is still sitting in its container in the US! I sent several emails to my rep. to no avail. I finally reached him over the phone and was told that our shipment has been held up due to issues w/ someone else's items in our container. I can now reasonably expect my stuff to arrive 16 weeks after I initially shipped it. At this point, I have had to re-purchase many items I had in shipment just so we can reasonably live. It has cost me lots of time and money and was a huge mistake. There are so many shipping companies out there, do not use this one!!!

Provided by YP.comDO NOT GO NEAR THEM! They are full of lies, careless, we suffered great loss, starting with a low quote that became double at destination and the door to door service was not done, we had to find our own customs agent In Ecuador to help us. Lots of broken thing packed by them ,and lots of things missing, they did not do the inventory they promise. Their behavior is unprofessional. Avoid a headache do not use them.

Provided by YP.comHey guys, just wanted to thank you for helping me ship this stuff, it all came in safe and sound. Granted, this was all a huge pain and turned out to be way longer and almost three times as expensive as I planned, you guys did your part and put honest effort towards helping me. I appreciate you working with me.

Provided by YP.comDear Tony,
We want to express our appreciation for your superb service helping us move our entire household from rural Idaho in the U.S.A. to a small town in rural Devon, UK in the spring of 2012. From our first contact with you via e-mail we could tell you were different from other movers. Your e-mail was intelligent, informative and personal. Your follow up professional telephone manner reassured us that you would be able to handle our complex move and at a price we could afford. The "local experienced" mover quoted us $5000 more and failed to follow up with us! You were always prompt and attentive in returning our calls and e-mails, despite being in a different time zone. Our container arrived on time as promised and we felt you and your staff walked us through all the paperwork requirements for our international move with ease. We were kept informed every step of the way as to what was happening with our goods. They arrived in the UK without any delay, no problem with customs, no extra charges at all and prompt, courteous delivery to our home. The local team in the UK were terrific and we felt spoiled by the excellent service we received at such little cost. We would definitely recommend your company to anyone wishing to relocate from anywhere in the USA to anywhere in mainland Britain. Thanks again Tony.

Provided by YP.comMy family was forced to move to London for my job. I was concerned about which company to choose since all of them seem to have one negative or another against them. It came down to choosing the one with the best BBB reputation which was Express Cargo. Thankfull, the move went smoothly and Greens Removal in the UK did a great job of delivery. It arrived a week later than what was estimated, but I was just happy that it was all intact so I didn't mind the slight delay. All in all, a good service and as long as they are competitive, I plan on using them to move back in a couple of years. Bob

Provided by YP.comMy wife and I moved to Berlin several months ago and shipped our goods with Express Cargo. Initially, we were dismayed that over 20 companies contacted us after we submitted the information online, but slowly, each of them dropped off as we maintained contact with Tom who was helpful and informative. We finally narrowed it down to 3 companies , but it was their A+ BBB rating that finally convinced me. Although moving day was long, the packers did an excellent job and we were relieved when they were finally gone. While our shipment was in transit, the documentation department gave us the estimated arrival date of our container along with the contact info of the company that would be delivering our goods. The people at Active Moving in Germany contacted us before the container actually arrived and being prudent, I made sure everything was in place to avoid any complications. I’m sure I bothered them after a while, but I’ve never moved overseas before and was scared at some of the horror stories I had read about all moving companies in general. Thank goodness Express Cargo had coordinated some great companies to take care of us and looking back on the positive experience, we plan on using them to ship back to the US once my contract is over. Well done. Sergio Romero

Provided by YP.comI'd like to thank Jennifer, Gladys and Express Cargo USA for all the work, help and guidance when I needed my gear shipped back home to New Zealand.
I first came across this company when making enquiries over the internet.
After numerous quotes, I chose your company for the following reasons,
1. Pricing
2. Clear and precise correspondence
3. Insurance
I had no idea of the steps or processes involved with shipping gear overseas however Damian explained to me very clearly and simply the steps involved.
Any queries I had, no matter how big or small they were, Jennifer would respond back to me promptly through emails and because of any concerns I had, they were promptly put to rest very quickly. I really appreciated this attention to servicing and details.
I have no hesitation in recommending Express Cargo to anyone who is looking for a company to move their gear overseas.
Warm Regards,
Belle O'Connor

Provided by YP.comI moved from Seattle to Spain with Express Cargo and was extremely happy with the service and condition of my boxes on arrival.
I chose this company for their competitive quote for a partial shipment to Spain with boxes I had packed myself.
The first person I was in contact with who gave me the quote was responsive the entire duration of my business with Express Cargo, regardless of where my belongings were at any given time. The paperwork and correspondence was simple and clear, even though I was moving internationally and they were dealing with my custom forms etc..
I encountered some wonderful people during my interactions with this company, especially the drivers of the trucks at pickup and delivery.
My boxes arrived Nov 23rd in perfect condition with no damage whatsoever to the contents which included sensitive items like monitor, electronics etc...
I am very grateful for such a positive experience given the complexity of the task.
With Thanks, Joanne

Provided by YP.comYou organized my household-goods LCL shipment from CA to Sydney. I received everything today. Thanks to Eric and your team, the whole process of quoting/invoicinging/scheduling was very easy. Communication between Australia and the US was very efficient. I would also like to thank Pacific Crating and Shipping, who you used in California for packing. Everything was VERY well-packed and everything arrived in great condition.
Thanks again for a professional job.

Provided by YP.comI moved recently from US to Romania. I chose Express Cargo USA -
http://www.expresscargousa.com/ for a simple reason – they provided the best quote. I was in contact with at least eleven other companies. My contact at the company was Patrick Christopher. Once I chose Express Cargo, the other companies started a scare tactic campaign. “ … they are going to charge you later and is going to be at least twice as much… it is impossible to provide a quote that low, it does not make any sense, you are going to regret the decision … your things will be trapped until you pay more…”
I have chosen to pack and load on my own, we kept the container over the weekend and I paid for a 20 ft container; so a 20ft container self pack self load. Guess what, the container arrived safe and sound, on time, with no delay and no overcharges. I am glad I chose Express Cargo. There was a snag at the port in Romania but it was solved quickly by Patrick it took one email from me, he replied promptly and solved the problem.
The container was handled from the port by a Romanian company Orbit Transporturi Internationale - http://www.orbitromania.ro/, a company chosen by Patrick to handle things locally in Romania. My contact here was Liliana Burghelea. On a scale from one to ten both companies get a 10; no hassle no headaches.
Here is what I think; happy customers rarely provide feedback, unhappy customers will always complain. I am one of the happy ones and it took me a month to provide feedback.

Provided by YP.comThey shipped our stuff internationally, and while it arrived about as intact as you could expect, it took twice as long to get there as they said (3 months!), and we ended up with a much higher volume of stuff than we'd thought... which means a WAY higher bill. They had some story about how we'd sent the wrong shaped items, and so there was lots of wasted space in the packages they put together, and maybe that's even true, but they didn't really give us any warning about this before hand... you know, when we could have done something about it. Would recommend you find someone else who has better customer service.

Provided by YP.comSTAY AWAY: CROOKS.
Days after pickup when I was already at my destination, the volume grew from the initial free estimate to more double leaving me no choice but to pay excessive price. The contracted packing material and debris removal were not provided. Lack of proper packing and wreckless handling caused significant damages to about 5% of total items that were packed by the movers; in addition, about 10% of the items were 'mysteriously misssing' a condition that is not covered by the expensive insurance that was sold by expresscargousa as specific for consolidated move: when consolidating, they lock & then open the container at their wearhouse, so any missing item is mysteriously missing.
