DO NOT TRUST GOOD REVIEWS ON THEIR WEBSITE. I left an honest review of my experience described below on their site and they proceeded to take it down to preserve a clean appearance. These guys are NOT to be trusted. And with something as important as you car you need to trust the people working on it.



Your service was offensively bad. Your strategy of constantly telling me you would "get back to me within the hour" to ward off me taking my car elsewhere was wrong and reflects badly on you as a person and company. I informed you it was important that I got it back that day, if you don't feel capable you tell your customer because that was a REQUIRMENT of that specific job. Let alone I told you what the problem was believed to be and you still had to dance around looking at it until it was too late to fix it that day. And of course you open at 7:30 and my car that was there since 9 the previous morning wasn't finished until noon. I will never be returning to your shop and I will inform every person I can to steer clear of this shady business and their shifty practices.

AWESOME work. They pulled me out of a bind. I contacted them on a Sunday morning, they arranged to have my vehicle towed that evening and on Monday (memorial day) they repaired and returned my vehicle to me. Just in time for me to have for work. The owner, Mr. Brown did the work himself since his employees were off. I felt he went out of his way by offering to pick me up once my vehicle was ready. You just don't get this kind of GREAT service these days. I am impressed and will continue to take my business to them.

This company lives up to its reputation as a service oriented company. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly. I like dealing with family owned businesses because they seem to be more grounded and work with their customers better then large shops. I had to have an axel replaced in my vehicle (my only vehicle) and they were more then willing to get my vehicle finished ASAP! The price wasn't to bad either, I would recommend this shop to everyone I know!

Wow, what a great shop. You cant go wrong with B&L. They do awesome, reliable work, and stand behind the work they do. I have been bringing my car here for 10 years now and I live in Hampton. They have always been informative with me about any problems my car has had , without being pushy about getting them fixed. Very professional atmosphere, comfortable waiting room, and quality work is why I always return to B&L for service. They are the best in the area and care about their customers.

I believe the do good work but they charge a premium for their parts and they do not allow you to bring your own parts. All parts must be purchased through them. I offered to get my own and the answer was no, we will not install customer provided parts because we can't guarantee quality. Which I can understand but I don't understand the premium they are charging for the parts they get from NAPA...They charged me $131.00 for a coil pack...NAPA charges for the most expensive $63.99...dealership charges $110.00...many other parts over priced to buy from them to list. Overall I overpaid about $434.98 on the parts I could find on NAPA's site...and that is my price not a business account with discount...B&L Automotive charged me $842.39 and if I was able to buy them from NAPA and have them install the part it would have cost me $407.41...they charged me more than double for the parts...I skimmed the reviews on here and thought they were a good place to take but I didn't see the warning about being screwed on parts...I'll never take my vehicles back to them again.

Check Their Work!

B & L performed a coolant system flush and lower radiator hose replacement. The next day, the hose leaked profusely. Their inspection found the hose defective, and they happily and with apologies repaired the hose. I returned to pick up the vehicle, and before leaving the business parking lot, I opened the hood to check their work and found the coolant reservoir empty and the PCV valve line disconnected. I informed the manager and he promptly filled the reservoir and reconnected the PCV valve. The balance of the work they performed such as the four wheel alignment and other work appears to have been done properly. I can only recommend B & L, with caution. I will add that they cleaned the battery terminals without charge.
