I cannot say enough about Cole. I took my car in to have the air conditioner checked out. Howard replaced the fan and took care of other miner issues for me before they developed into major issues. My car started overheating but only when I ran the air so I took it back in. Howard found that all it needed was a fuse which he replaced at no charge. I was on the road in minutes with glorious cold air and no fear of getting stuck on the side of the road. I love these guys they are caring, friendly and above all Howard is a mechanic with integrity that you can trust.

We recently relocated to the Dallas, TX area (Arlington) and both my wife and I drive Hondas both with over 100,000 miles. We’ve had a few issues with the vehicles that we can certainly contribute to age. We've been taking our cars to Cole’s and they are great at keeping older vehicles running well. In addition, they don’t push extra services on us that won't help extend vehicle life. They do just as good of a job as the dealer and cost a heck of a lot less. Have referred many co-workers, friends and family members to Cole’s and everyone gets the same amazing service and treatment. I need to trust my mechanic considering I travel on average about 80 miles a day back and forward to work and I do. They are honest, will never do work that is unnecessary and will give you an honest assessment of the state of your car and when repairs and maintenance items MUST be done. Don't take your car anywhere else before you try Cole’s.

About a year ago, I spent about $1500 and two weeks with another shop, and they still didn't fix what seemed to be a simple problem. Luckily, I stumbled upon Cole's. $50 and about 2 hours later, the problem was resolved!

Over the last year, the only person I have trusted to keep my car running is Howard Cole, proprietor and chief mechanic of Cole’s Auto. I have found him to be very thorough, and exceptionally honest. His diagnosis is always on target, and the work is always first rate.

Cole’s prices are very competitive, but it is the quality of the work that keeps me coming back. Howard is absolutely obsessive about fixing things right. He clearly explains the issue and outlines options for repair. I also appreciate that the diagnosis is accurate, which means that the price quoted is usually the price i end up paying.

I also appreciate the quality of customer service from the front office. Appointments are made and respected. Questions are thoughtfully answered. Prices are clearly outlined and explained. Customers are treated as a valuable part of the business. (Unlike so many other shops, where the customer is simply a walking wallet!)

Lastly, Cole's is a family owned and operated business. I appreciate dealing with the individual owner operators. The quality of the work and the customer service is directly related to the fact that this is an owner operated business.

If you have any auto repair needs, I strongly recommend that you use Cole's. You will be happy you did!

As a single female who knows very little about cars, I sometimes feel that I'm at the mercy of automotive repair mechanics. I had some problems with my car that I was sure were related to my transmission, so I started looking for a transmission specialist and ran across Cole's on this website. As they had lots of positive reviews, I decided to give them a call. I described to them the problem I was having and stated that the car "just didn't feel right." Sarah, by the way, is a great listener and remembered all the "symptoms" I described. It turned out not to be a transmission problem at all - Howard felt that it was a problem with the rack and pinion and gave me an estimate on replacing it. I accepted the estimate. After he actually got into the repair and was able to see more, he discovered that my rack and pinion were OK, but the bushings were not. Sarah called me to let me know the estimate on that repair, which was significantly less than the original estimate. A less than ethical mechanic would have replaced the rack and pinion anyway and charged me lots of money! Howard was also able to identify the cause of another problem I was having with my brakes and to fix it for a reasonable price. I've since driven my car and all the problems I was having are gone!! It's very reassuring to deal with an honest and competent mechanic. Also, Sarah is able to explain mechanical stuff in a way that's easily understood.

I am not one who takes time to write reviews, but I just had too for Cole's auto repair! I had just bought a vehicle, trusting the person who sold it to me, and it turned out to be a lemon! :-( It was one of the toughest things I had to go through being on a fixed income and trying to deal with a NO GOOD vehicle! Well I wouldn't have know it was a lemon if Howard wouldn't have told me. It would have been easy, very easy, for him to not have said anything and just continued to work on the truck time and time again, but he was up front and very honest from the start! Him and Sara are a blessing in disguise and went over and beyond what anyone would have ever done for us! They are honest, friendly, and great people! If you have issues with your vehicle and need to get it checked or need a vehicle checked BEFORE you buy it, go with Cole's Auto repair and you will NOT go wrong! GO TO COLE AUTO REPAIR FOR ANY CAR REPAIRS PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hands down cole's auto repair is the BEST auto repair center ever. Sara and Cole are the SWEETEST,KINDEST,HONEST people I have ever met in my life. Sara was so patient with me about explaining everything that had to be fixed and explaining it to where i understood everything that was wrong. They really care about their customers and providing excellent, quality service. Their kids are the cutest thing ever. I have been going to cole's for the past 4 months. I had my ac fixed which works like a dream since he fixed it, he replaced my timing belt, fixed my head gasket, and replaced my neutral safety switch. The first time i came to cole's was bci needed my brakes to be fixed and cole took a look at my car and it turned out it wasnt the brakes i needed to replace my tires i was surprised that he was so honest with me. Cole's is very affordable on any budget they never over charge you for anything and they get your car repaired very quickly. I have had no problem's with my car since I have taken it to cole's. Cole came in last sunday to repair my car bc there was more work that needed to be done then originally planned cole and sara explained it in detail to me what the problem was and what needed to be done to fix it and he came in early on his day off to fix it and to top it off he WASHSED MY MOTOR TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he didnt have to do either one of those things come in on his day off or wash my motor i was so amazed how caring he is. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT COLE'S AUTO REPAIR FOR YOU CAR REPAIRS NEEDS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. Tasha A.

I am a Systems Administrator/Web Developer who was online looking for someone to help me with my car. I read some great reviews of Howard and Sarah on this site and decided to take a chance.



Could not have been more pleased and impressed with my experience. Rather than taking advantage of a situation many mechanics regularly abuse, Howard chose the honest path and in doing so has earned a client for life. I will recommend Cole's to anyone looking for a honest, trustworthy experience with vehicle repair of any magnitude. I will do my best to send as many others their way as possible, as it was so very well stated in another review - the world could use more people like Sarah and Howard.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Sarah and Howard on some extensive repairs on a vehicle. We had bought the car from "friends" whose "mechanic" brother had supposedly gotten it great shape....he had the car, "fixed up like new for his littlebrother to drive" ....should have followed my gut but didn't.... Hmmmmm...well....you guessed it....that was definitely NOT the case. But then, what to do?



We found the reviews for Coles Auto, and with much caution got an estimate for the repairs. We knew we had been taken by the seller, so were prepared for the costs. The important thing to us is to have a SAFE vehicle for a young driver. Howard explained in detail everything involved and WHY....Sarah got a full estimate with parts and labor printed out for us. I liked that we were told UPFRONT that, depending on transmission choices, the cost could vary. We believe in giving the experts the time they need to do a job right and were extremely pleased with the attention to detail that Coles provided.



The BEST thing about dealing with an HONEST family business is this: I saw the Coles with their two adorable children, so when trying to decide what to do, I asked Howard if he would put his child behind the wheel of the car if she were 17? His affirmitive answer and the honesty in his eyes was all I needed. Yep....we are very pleased!

My son had just got a used 2001 Honda Accord. When we found anti-freeze leaking we had it taken to Coles for a once over. Howard found a number a items wrong with the car and gave a rough estimate. We were still not sure what to do so Howard went deeper into the car and had Sarah spend hours to do a detailed estimate which discovered many items that were in need of immediate repair. It was going to cost more than the car was worth in bluebook which Howard did advise. We were 80% sure we needed to go the repair route since we could have taken that money for the repair and bought another used car but you might still end up paying for repairs on any used vehicle. What really sealed the deal for us was not only all the work Sarah did on getting all the details for us but my wife and son went to their shop and Howard spent about an hour with them explaining and showing what was going on with my sons car. This was extremely impressive since if Howard is taking time to explain, he really wants his customers to feel at ease as to what repairs are needed. Sarah and Howard always kept us informed as to the progress of the work being done. My sons car runs as if it were new. I thank Howard and Sarah for their hard work but mostly their honesty and care they had for my sons car and our personal situation.

I wrote this review a long time ago, but I lost the paper I wrote it on, but I found it today in my car. So, here it goes. I went to another place to get new tires & an oil change. They told me about some other work that needed to be done that was very costly. After having my girly breakdown moment, I decided to look up mechanics in Arlington. I came across positive reviews for Cole's Auto Repair and was very impressed. I took my car in the next day, and they were completely honest about what needed to be repaired and what was preventative maintenance. They checked my car and three hours later, my oil leak was fixed. I was amazed at how fast their service was. I told my sisters about Cole's and about my experience and then Tuesday rolled around I was back at Cole's, this time with my sister's car. She was having trouble with her cooling system; it would blow hot air when she was stopped, but would blow cold while driving. My sis had a new fan placed in her vehicle in December, but didn't drive her car for 6 months. I took it to Cole's and they diagnosed what was wrong with it. Turns out the place where she got the fan did not install it correctly and it was secured in place by extra wires, as well as, put in too much anti-freeze in it. Howard talked to our dad and let him know what was going on and reassured him that everything was going to be taken care of properly. My sis authorized the work and a few hours later it was done by for 5pm. Their kids asked if I would be back again and I told them hopefully I wouldn't be back. I came back again the following week to have more work done on my sister's car and it was done quickly. Howard and Sarah were so kind and helpful with everything. They have life-long customers in my sister and I and this is the only place I will take my car to from now on

Great service, and good people. After being screwed over by Pro Active in Irving, it was a relief to find a good mechanic who actually installs the right parts.

I have had several disappointing experiences while getting repairs done to my '02 Cadillac Deville.... My trip to Cole's definitely was not one of them. I was very satisfied with the cost, the honesty, the people, and most importantly the work done on my vehicle. I will not be taking any vehile anywhere but Cole's from now on.... Overall GREAT EXPERIENCE... all the way around.

friendly and understanding people took my car to have the clutch slave cylinder fixed and found out the whole clutch basicly needed to be repaired gave me a very good price to have all work done and it will be done fast so over all i recommend every one to go here to have work done

I took my car to Cole's after it started overheating and they they had it ready by the end of the day. Not only is Howard a great mechanic but he and Sara are good and honest people. They inform you about the progress of your car and they will not do anything without letting you know first. They're are other mechanics that are closer to where I live but I'm willing to drive to Cole's because I trust him as my mechanic.

Took my dad's car into Cole's today to get some freon in his a/c - Sara and Howard were great - my Dad was even happy and he is hardly ever happy! Thanks for your great service and fair pricing. I will be back and will tell my friends and familly.

Best auto repair shop I have ever been to in the DFW. Mr. Cole was very honest and straight forward. Explained exactly what was wrong (a loose hose clamp) with my Honda Civic. Did not overcharge or try to say that I had a major problem like many other shops I've been to. He even cleaned my engine before I left. I would definitely recommend Cole's Auto Repair to anyone.‎ Oh and for the 25 minute wait the Cole kids kept me very entertained.

I don't know about the reviewers who had bad experiences here because I've used these folks on 4 different cars and have saved TONS of money!



They are incredibly prompt to fix the problem, cheap and make great service calls. The mechanic himself calls you and talks to you about the issues.



I highly recommend this place, not on just one use but several experiences I've had and after price comparison and realizing how much I have saved!

We recently took our Impala to Cole's Auto & Transmission Repair and everything was explained very well . Howard and Sara are both dedicated hard workers, and I'm sure that anyone can agree that It's great to see a husband and wife successfully working together. They were very patient with the warranty company that we had for our car. They were very friendly and open about all their services. And due to their openness there were no suprise costs.
