Provided by YP.comWe have a 5 yr old golden retriever who had bloody diarrhea about every hour and a half. Because it was a Sunday morning, our regular vet was not open. We've never had any experiences with emergency vets, but always heard they were extremely expensive. When we arrived at St. Francis, they started taking care of my dog the moment we walked in. All of the staff were extremely polite and kind. Dr. Steele was very thorough and had my dog's needs in mind. The hospital staff were upfront about costs, which were no where near as expensive as I had expected them to be for my dog's treatment. They told us what they would recommend to find what was wrong with our dog and let us decide if that was the route (and $) we wanted to do. I was skeptical to try St Francis because I read the other customers' reviews. I'm glad I made the choice to go. Thanks Dr Steele and staff!

Provided by YP.comWe actually have cops that go out and arrest people for animal cruelty, what about the animal hospitals like this one who will not see an animal on an emergency unless you have money up front. We had a sick kitten tonight September 9, 2009...the kitten had been poisoned by flee meds. We were told to call St Frances because the Hollywood Animal Hospital wouldn't see the animal unless the owner had money up front to pay for the visit. The cat was in convultions...we asked this animal hospital as well as the hollywood Animal hospital located at 2864 Hollywood Blvd. if the owner could make payments, because she didn't have the money up front. She does work fulltime...they also said NO MONEY NO HELP FOR YOUR KITTEN. they wouldn't even tell her how she could possible help the kitten herself.
She begged to have her kitten helped...told them this was animal cruelty on the part of the animal hospital...because they wouldn't even see the kitten to try to help...the nurse/secretary's reply to this is animal cruelty was and I quote: "YOU WOULDN'T GO TO WINN-DIXIE WITH NO MONEY WOULD YOU...IT IS THE SAME THING WHEN YOU WANT US TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR ANIMAL."
What is this...if these doctors are not willing to work with someone who has an emergency with their animals and only care if they get the money up front, then they should be charged with animal cruelty and if this kitten dies...with murder...because it was their lack of caring that caused this kitten not to get the medical help it needed...The cat is at home still having convultions and probably will not make it through the night.
I would think twice before calling this Emergency Animal Hospital...
