I so appreciate Dr. Porter's gentleness, kindness and professionalism. My children all (3) look forward to their visits. Dr. Porter takes time to explain exactly what is happening in the mouths of my children, and the hygienist matches the professionalism of Dr. Porter. The environment & staff make coming to the dentist an awesome, fun experience. The prices are great too! :)

My daughter looks forward to going to the dentist! She talks about the office and about her "friends" who clean her teeth. Wonderful dentist, Dr. Porter and she loves getting treats when her visit is over. I agree with her on all of the above and appreciate the text reminders. Mike was very accommodating on getting my car brakes done on the same day I've called since the online appointment requires two days ahead. The brakes were done in the afternoon with enough time to get my car tires replaced across the street.

Dr. Porter is incredibly kind and thorough. He explains everything to my son and is empathetic. No t.v.s are needed here. The office is decorated in a surf decor and the children are given the standard prizes after their checkup. Are you the kind who flosses and brushes really well? Well, then congratulations! You just may be one of the lucky ones who get to enter their names in a raffle and walk off with a new cruiser! If you're not such a great brusher, no worries. You're still treated kindly. My son is not a flosser and he still is congratulated for just using a toothbrush and a post brush "wash". He does not need braces, so I can not comment on that type of service.

I find the office staff friendly and helpful. The hygienists are thorough, thoughtful and develop a good rapport with parents and children.

I cannot speak to the prices Dr. Porter charges because my insurance has always covered my costs (guess I have good insurance). What pleases me the most about Dr. Porter and his practice is his philosophy on intervention. Contrary to what some other reviewers have said, Dr. Porter has always erred on the side on non-intervention, specifically concerning orthodontics. He has cared for my daughter since the age of 4. At the age of 8, when several of her permanent teeth were coming in crooked, he kept telling us, "Let's wait and see what the teeth do before we start talking about braces." Sure enough, her teeth straightened out! I have always felt like Dr. Porter has the dental health of my daughter first and foremost in his mind and actions.

A good place to take your kid. A busy office, but Dr. Porter is very gentle and thorough. The practice is set up especially for youngsters, ages three and up. Price? We pay cash since he doesn't take Medi-Cal. $100 for a checkup, $200 for a filling. Expensive, yes - but excellent service.

My son has only needed a dentist twice now but I am happy that we found Doc Porter. He has a great reception area and office. You can tell the Dr. likes children by the amount of art, toys and other comforting details within the office. I recommend his strongly.

My children both just had their 3rd visit with Dr. Porter, and he is a great dentist. You just can't say anything negative about him and his office staff. Has anyone been to a dentist lately? They are not cheap, but you are paying for an extremely important service. As someone with major teeth issues, I will pay the extra money to get things done right the first time and have it maintained rather than pay a cut rate dentist to do work I am going to have to have redone in 3 years. The raffle thing is a great idea...I highly recommend him to any family!

Dr. Porter has been my daughters dentist for seventeen years now and we adore him. He is by far the best out there!
